Re-watching this after a several year hiatus from it on the presumption that I hated it, I found to my surprise that it wasn't so bad this time around. I still don't care for the vocal talents of either Howard Keel or Jane Powell, but the songs themselves are far better than I remembered them being. "Lonesome Polecat" is now high on my list of favorite fun showtunes. There are enough cute jokes and entertaining moments that maybe in a couple years I'll watch it again.
