What is The Maze?

History:

"Felix' amazing Maze" was a dungeon, built 1996/1997. It could be accessed on the www with any browser. An unlimited number of people could log in and walk their way through the huge labyrinth's different rooms. They could meet other users, talk to them and optionally fight them. The Maze had graphical output and text (status, messages etc.) and control elements on a html page and could optionally be controlled with a command line. It was CGI based.
I took first place in the Colorado Computational Science fair in 1997 with this project. By then there were 50-200 logons a day.
In summer 1997 a hacker erased all data on the maze's server and the maze including all source code was lost (stupid me didn't have backup...).

Now:

Now "The Maze" is my new project to take over the internet's world entertainment again. The reason you can't see it yet is that I don't have any more accounts where I can install CGIs. And I'm not quite sure, if I want to do it in VRML or if I want to render the images realtime on an internet server, maybe even using a 3D accelerator.
Now it's your turn to give me feedback, so I know I have to get going... And someone has to give me a CGI directory (and webspace and cpu time). Or you could give me a lot of money and I'll do it in your name...

The Maze will be back...
