HOCKEY!
Anyone who knew Amanda knew she lived for hockey.  Whether it was playing hockey; watching live hockey; watching hockey on TV; or her dream, working in hockey; that was her first love.  At many Providence Bruins outings where Samboni was required, she would do the job.  For the last half of the 2000-2001 season, until she was diagnosed with Leukemia, she was Samboni at the games also.  Amanda loved children and the children loved Samboni.  Zachary, Amanda's nephew, loved Samboni until he was 10 feet from her, and then he didn't like her amymore.  We can't wait until we can tell Zach that that was his dear Auntie Amanda.

Sean Hendricks, Amanda's brother, and Zachary Calabro, her nephew carry on with her love of hockey.  Sean as the stick boy for the Providence Bruins, and Zach, as a true hockey nut, in his third season going to the PB's games.  Never make the mistake of telling Zachary as he is going home from Grandma's (as I did!) that Grandma and Grandpa are going to watch the Bruins game.  He will park himself on the couch and take off his shoes...and await the game.

We all know Amanda is 'over there' enjoying watching her hockey legacy.
This is where it all started. A Providence Bruins skate with the players in 1987.
Sean and Amanda with Bill Amstrong, then captain of the team, gone on now to coaching..  One of the pall bearers at Amanda's funeral. Thank you, Bill.
Another successful outing as Samboni. Don't you just love that smile?    Spring 2001
