Then and Now

Then

This photo was taken in the early 80's. At that time, I was working as a research engineer in a semi-government company in Makati after graduating from college.

Now!

We went to England to visit the Queen. Queen Elizabeth II was not home when we arrived Windsor. She was still working at her office, the Buckingham Palace. We had a nice time posing in front of her castle and beautiful gardens. The tour inside the castle was also lovely.

Jeff and I at the Argentina side of Iguazu Falls. Iguazu is the widest/biggest waterfall in the world. It covers 3 countries in South America: Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

Iguazu Falls at the Brazil side. This part of the falls is called the "Devil's Throat" or "Garguanta del Diablo".

This photo was taken at the top of "Pao de Azucar" in Rio de Janiero. The "Christ Redeemer" statue is hidden by the fog (Corcovado mountain in the foreground). Rio is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. In terms of physical beauty, it has jungle, lakes, mountain, rivers and beaches. We stayed near Copacobana beach. This beach is the continuation of Ipanema and Leblon beaches along the Atlantic coast. Don't forget the sexy Cariocans (Rio natives) - with their mind blowing tiny bikinis. The samba might have something to do with their sexiness!

In Buenos Aires, Argentina near a Gauchos night club where we watched a Tango show. The city is like Paris. Aside from cheaper leather goods, the steak is excellent in this country.

At Plaza de las Armas in Santiago, Chile. Chile considered the richest among the Latin American countries. Santiago is situated at the base of Andes mountains. We also visited the coastal cities of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. Santiago has similarities with California. It has plenty of fresh fruits, beautiful gardens and wineries.

Jeff and I in an ancient open-air Greek theater in Segesta, island of Sicily, Italy. This Mediterranean island is a great destination if you're looking for delicious food, beautiful weather and lovely sceneries. A bit of information, St. Peter and Paul started their mission to spread Christianity in Sicily.

Taken in one of the towers of Castel San't Angelo overlooking the dome of St. Peter, Vatican City.

Italy is famous for its fountains. Trevi Fountain is one of them. There is a belief that if you throw a coin in the fountain and make a wish, that wish will come true.

This is the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is my fourth visit to this tiny European country but there is always a place to see. In our last trip, we went inside the house where Anne Frank and her family stayed (they hide in the attic) before being captured by the Nazis. Also, don't forget to visit the museums of Rembrandt and Van Gogh.

At Hanauma Beach in the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We also visited Maui and Kawai. These islands are very much like the Philippine islands. The small villages in Kawaii reminds me so much of the barrio where I was born and lived for 17 years.

The picture above was taken in the windy city, Chicago's Millenium Park.

This picture was taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota February 2006 with Sarah and Rachel. The lake where we are standing has frozen. Literally, we are standing on water.

Taken in Huntington Garden, City of Huntington located in southern California.

Inside an old train station which was converted to museum (Musee D-Orsay) in Paris, France. I think this old train station is the loveliest museum I've ever been.

We went to the top of Eifel tower but this picture was taken at the top of Arc de Triomph. This time, the Eifel Tower is seen in the background with the lovely city of Paris.

This is the Spanish version of Arc de Triomph, in Barcelona, Spain.
