Alaskan Adventure
(Day 6, Seward)

After a 5 hour wait to get the new RV, we were back on the road again.  It was July 1.  On to Seward, a small fishing village on the East side of the Kenai Peninsula.  We found Seward to be a very friendly town.  We stayed in the Edgewater Hotel, not far from Lowell Creek, another terminal fishery.  A crowd of people here were attempting to snag king salmon, a legal method of taking fish in the salt water in this area.  This is another combat fishing zone.

The water in this stream comes from a waterfall next to the road.  Here is a picture of the kids next to the falls:

We fished here unsuccessfully for an hour or so before returning to the hotel room.  Crystal managed to find some rainbow feet gloves and Jennifer wanted a pair as well.

Crystal and Jennifer managed to bond quite well during vacation, even though Jennifer was a brat at times and drove us all nuts.

We went back to the mouth of Lowell Creek to take some pictures.  I managed to capture this Bald Eagle in pursuit of someone's fish.  Neither of them managed to get dinner.

I also managed to capture this same eagle perched in the tree.  The telephoto did a good job condidering the distance.

Here's another of the same bird.

At one point, the eagle was suspended in the wind.
