Pop Shuv-it Tailgrab
Okay the pop shuv tailgrab isn't to hard to do. Well I don't think so anyways. First you gotta do pop-shuvits and have them dialed. Then just do a shuv like normal but keep your leading hand down. Watch the shuvit go around and try to snag the board out of the air as it comes around. Most people I try to teach just try to hit the board with there hands as it comes around. You gotta try to actually grab it. It looks cool if you grab it at like 90 deg then pull it around infront of yourself. Thats about it. Try it jumping into grass so you don't have to worry about slipping out.

Kickflip
First off, kickflips suck, everyone trys so hard to do this trick then when you can do it you see how easy it was and why you couldn't do it earlier. It also is one of the poser greatness tricks, in a posers eyes if you can flip it you dominate at skating which of course isn't true. well most of the time anyways. Don't kill yourself trying to do this trick, its not worth it. Now that I've had my rant heres the tip. Put your back foot ready for an ollie and your front foot at almost 45 deg. or less so that your front toe is covering the lower left bolt(if your goofy foot lower right). Keep your weight almost even but put more weight over your back foot. I find this helps a lot. Then as you pop your tail sort off roll your foot off the board so your toe goes into that little dip at the base of the nose. This should get the board flipping. Then depending on how high you've jumped the board will under-rotate, over-rotate, or you'll land it. I'm not really sure how I land it but the board flips and my feet just catch it. Sorry but it just happens. This trick is all about commitment. If you think your gunna fall your gunna mess up. Try it moving but jump so you'll land in grass so you won't slip out. Thats about all the help I can give you. It's all about commitment.

Heelflip
This is the dumbest trick. Its only purpose is to give me letters in the Game Of SKATE. I don't suggest you learn this trick. It is ugly and boring. I broke my old board doing one of these so they give off a bad Karma. Only do these if your name is Lindsey Robertson. If you don't know why then go watch Dying To Live. Anyways onto the trick tip after my insane blabber. I'm not very consistent with this trick at all. Maybe like one in ten, maybe. Anyways setup your front foot in about the middle of the board with your toes hanging off the edge so its mainly your heel on the board. Then do a regular ollie and kick your foot of the heel edge of the board as you drag it up the board. Kick out and it should flip nicely. Make sure you hit your heel on the way up or the board with credit card you or you will just look dumb. Now that it is spinning your front foot pretty much comes back in to catch the board almost automatically. Set it down and keep your legs spread so you land over the bolts, not in the middle with both feet. That makes your board break. Good luck but don't try it cause it sucks.

50-50 to Tailslides
Stating the obvious here, you gotta know how to do 50-50's before doing this trick, Obviously. Okay for this trick you 50-50 grind along then pivot your weight around into a tailslide then come off, thats what this trick is incase your wondering. Before you do anything go set your board up in 50-50 on the coping, just set it on there. Now stand on it and put all your weight onto your back foot so the tail touches, it'll look like your doing a 5-0 now. Okay now swing your shoulders around so they are perpendicular to the coping. ( the coping and your shoulders make a T, your shoulders being the part that sticks down in the T< ) Your feet should follow your shoulders around and you should drop into a tailstall position. Got that?? Do it a few times just so your used to the motion of going from 50-50 to tailslide postion. Okay now ride at the coping like regular for a 50-50, once your on wait until you've almost stopped moving before transitioning into a tailslide, then once your into you tail stall/slide pivot your shoulders again so they are parallel to the coping and you should come off the coping back onto the ground, maybe rolling, maybe not. Anyways you know get the jist of the trick. Now do it again faster and go into a tailslide before you've almost stopped moving. You should slide a bit depending on how far you lean back. Now once you have those on lockdown try a shuvit or dun dun dun...Kickflip...out of it. Incase your wondering I can't kickflip out of them.

Big Spin
This trick is really called a FAKIE big spin but knowbody can do regular big spins so everyone calls the fakie ones just big spins. This move is good for a setup trick cause if your tail is really worn down or soemthin so you only do tricks off one end you can keep your board pointing the same way but you switch your stance up. If that made any sense? Moving on... This trick is pretty easy cause you don't have to pop at all you just shuv it around. You wanna be able to just pivot around back to normal stance around the front wheels before trying this. Okay first start rolling fakie at a normal speed but not to fast cause your just learning. Start to pivot around your leading (front) wheels and once you get to about 90 deg kick the board around like a shuvit. You just kinda randomly throw your board around to start. Make sure your body does a 180. That part is key. Watch the front wheels/bolts spin around under your feet and try to land back on the board. The board is supposed to go 360 shuvit. It makes it a lot easier if you pivot first I find. This trick is actually not very good to tip on cause its hard to explain the movements. This tip sucks but go try the trick and maybe you'll do it. Shoulda tipped on something easier like...I dunno.

Backside Half-Cab
This is one of those tricks that can be used for everything. You can just do it on flat, off stuff, onto stuff, into grinds and you can add flips into it for extra points. This is a fakie trick so make sure you can ride fakie. Also know how to do fakie ollies. First off like most spin tricks you must start with a shoulder turn in the way you would like to spin. Wind up your shoulders before hand and unwind as you go. So this is pretty much easy now, just pop a fakie ollie and as long as you shoulders keep turning and you get in the air you got it. Turn your head right away to, your body follows your head so keep that in mind. Once you can get them around try to get a nice pop and think about leveling out properly so you land with all four wheels at once not a dumb pivot.

Frontside Half-Cab
Make sure before you do this trick you can do BS half-cabs with a nice pop. This is a bit harder than the BS Half-Cab so pay attention. Shoulder wind up is crucial in this trick otherwise you will do a fs 90 and fall. This trick also "spins" behind you so it is a blind spin. This also adds difficulty to the trick. First wind yourself up again ang get ready to go. Pop it and swing your arms around behind you so you spin the right way. You kinda gotta feel you way through this one as you can't see anything. You can direct the board aroud with your foot closest to the nose. Pull your foot around and sorta pivot around the tail if that made any sense at all. Thats how I do it is with the foot pull. Its like making a big C behind you with your toe. Like figure skating sorta. (That is the dumbest sport ever invented). Turn your head as soon as you land so you can see where your going again. Tough trick but keep at it.

Jumping Down Stairs
Doing ollies down stairs can be very intimidating depending on how high and how many stairs you have. This trick has potential for big slams and wipeouts. Before thinking about doing any stairs be confident in your ollies and be able to snap nice clean ones and land over the bolts every time. First you wanna just check your stairs and look for cracks in the landing and takeoff just to be safe. First roll up to the set with enough speed to get over the stairs. Think about ollieing a deck or something easy to get a nice ollie. Try to keep the board sucked up and level in the air for better control. If something is going haywire then you can kick the board away and try again. As you are coming down extend your legs ready for impact. Depending on the size of the set get ready for a hit. Cushion the blow with your knees and keep looking ahead. If you land all stiff it looks ugly so try not to. Bend those knees to add some extra style on the side. Start off with a 2 or 3 stair then drive to California and attack El Toro with avengence!

Rock N' Roll
Rock N' Rolls are a fun trick to do on any size of quarter or half-pipes. First make sure you can ride transitions moderately well. Before I try any type of lip tricks I make sure I am comfortable dropping in so it makes the trick easier. Roll up the transition with enough speed to get your front trucks and most of your board over the coping. Just lift up your trucks a bit to get them over the coping and stall on the middle of the board. You want your weight mostly leaning into the ramp and and away from the deck but enough that the board stays put on the coping. Start to turn your shoulders into the ramp so you are looking down the ramp. Then shift your weight back even more so your back wheels touch the ramp and start to pivot around. Make sure you lift up the nose of the board enough that it clears the coping so you avoid hanging up, which is bad. Once your front trucks are past the coping continue to pivot and set down the wheels. Make sure you are leaning forward enough to ride back down the transition safely and ready for your next trick.

Frontside 180
First you need to be able to ollie pretty good. Ride along at whatever speed you think is good and start to turn your shoulders frontside as you crouch down. When you pop you want to be unwinding your body so once your in the air you just continue spinning around. Move your back foot in a "C" pattern to direct the tail of the board around properly. Once you are all the way around land and bend the knees to avoid dying. It helps to know how to ride fakie as well. You should be able to see infront of you the whole time incase you are confused about which way is frontside.

Backside 180
First you need to be able to ollie pretty good. Ride along at whatever speed you think is good and start to turn your shoulders fbackside as you crouch down. When you pop you want to be unwinding your body so once your in the air you just continue spinning around. Move your back foot in a "C" pattern to direct the tail of the board around properly. Once you are all the way around land and bend the knees to avoid dying. It helps to know how to ride fakie as well. This trick is a "blindside" trick as you can't really see to well when you land. You turn so your back faces the way you are going so you can;t see anything. You have to feel your way through this trick more than the fs 180's.

Dork Tricks
These tricks are just dumb tricks that I do as I go down the road or in between other tricks. One trick is called a tail pivot I guess, never really thought about the names. The other is the shuvit footplant.
First off is the tail pivot, what you want to do is ollie 90 deg frontside like a 180 except only half and keep almost all your weight on your back foot. Don't level out your ollie and land on your back wheels, as soon as you land swing your shoulders back to normal position and you'll pivot around the wheels like a manual and go back to regular riding. Put down the front wheels and keep moving. This is fun if your going fast.
For the shuvit foot plant you gotta know the pop shuvit. Okay so ride along and setup like a pop shuv. Do the shuvit and plant your back foot on the ground while the board spins, try to keep your front foot in contact with the board. Land the board on the ground like a regular pop shuvit but keeping your back foot on the ground. As soon as the board touches the ground jump off your back foot back onto the board and roll away. Once you get good at this try to plant your foot and jump back on the board while its still in the air.
