| NFL: Week 2 By The Sports Kid 09/20/04 Wow, the weeks fly by when your team does well, don't they? Make that only one week. My beloved Bolts had their "winning" time and now they're in their "other" time as expected. A time where we're on the wrong side of the scoreboard. So I think I'll change the subject toward my "other" team. Yes, I have another team. My fantasy team. By the way, for those of you who want my opinion on the up-and-growing sport of fantasy, I believe it's good for the game it opens of the sport to the loyal, 1-team fans that don't know other teams exist. While others may debate that because of fantasy sports, there are no true fans anymore because fantasy players care more for the players on their team rather than their own home team winning. While the rivalries in real life diminish, online rivalries are made. I think fantasy sports are overall good, seeing that fans can actually name players on other teams than just those on the home team. Now back to my fantasy teams. I'm doing better in my private league than in my public leagues. None of my teams are great, but they can pull their own. Surprisingly the leader on my teams has been Curtis Martin. The guy has over 300 yards rushing and 3 TDs in the past two games. Not bad for the 31-year-old-vet that guaranteed 1,500 yards rushing this year. T.O. has also gotten to a good start. I think this McNabb-Owens thing just might work. If they can get along and Owens keeps his mouth shut, I'm thinking next Peyton-Marvin duo. That is if T.O. can keep his ego and mouth shut. You've all heard me say this but I'm going to say it again, especially for those who need a TE, Antonio Gates is the real deal. Brees only passing target is complimented nicely with the leagues best RB, LaDainian Tomlinson. If he's a free agent, get him! Outta time, until next week. |
