The fourth graders in Title 1 reading at East Elementary read the book How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell in October.   After they finished reading they had a worm celebration.  During the celebration the students created their own recipes for making worms and tried several of them out with gummy worms.  Their favorite way was to eat them plain.  They also enjoyed the worm pie made with chocolate pudding, oreos, whipped cream, and gummy worms.  Students also created advertisements to get others interested in the book.
