Energy Transfer by Radiation The following excerpt from the book “APPLIED THERMODYNAMICS” by Virgil Faires exemplifies the ignorance of one fact in the transmission of energy by means of radiation. That ignorance is best exemplified in a question. Question: What is the primary method of heat, light, or energy transfer in the universe?” Answer: Well, the answer is by means of radiation! Discussion: The sub-atomic particle, quanta, or any other real or imagined body emits energy. This emission is radiant energy. Applied to the atom or sub- atomic particle it is the only method of attraction or repulsion. Attraction or repulsion is exponentially proportional by the inverse square law with the harmony or disharmony of the vibratory rate or spin of the particle or quanta. When particles have a harmony they are attracted to each other. When particles are dis-harmonious they repel each other. Just as in the frequencies of sound or light when similar magnitude and frequencies are in phase they are additive in nature. When they are out of phase by 180 degrees they cancel each other for a net zero energy. In the larger sense, radiant energy is best exemplified with another question, of course, ignoring rotation of our planet, which for the purpose of this discussion is properly ignored. Question: What is the difference between night and day? Answer: Again, the simple answer is the one with the most truth in it. It is also the one that provides the most profound answers. In a word, the SUN. Discussion: From the perspective of the earth, the sun is the only difference between night and day. The sun delivers its energy to us as RADIANT ENERGY. Radiant energy is the predominate form of energy transfer in the universe! From a deeper study, it will be proved that radiant energy is the only form of energy transfer in the universe. So let’s look at the statement from the book and the apparent discord between it and evidence. Statement: Faires writes, “The foregoing discussion has had to do largely with the transfer of heat by conduction and convection. (Emphasis added) The limitation of this discussion is not inappropriate because in so many heat-transfer devices, the radiated heat is negligible.” (Emphasis added) Discussion: So, according to the author, Mr. Faires, Radiant heat is not a large factor. In fact, radiant heat is the only method of energy transfer at the simplest level. Question: Because of conduction and convection should we limit the exploration of the primary method of heat transfer in the universe? Answer: A closer study of the mechanics of conduction and convection will lead you to the same conclusion as I drew when I examined the facts with a mind like a child. That conclusion is simple; all energy is transferred by means of radiation! Statement: Mr. Faires continues, “…In other cases, however, a large proportion of the transferred heat may be in the form of radiant energy. Surplus radiant energy striking a surface will heat the surface and as a result of a higher surface temperature, more heat will be conducted through the wall. For example, the heat transferred through the roof of a cooled building in the summer is much greater when the sun's rays strike the roof normally than when the sun is obscured by a cloud, even though the air temperature in both cases is the same. This is true because the radiant energy of the sun passes through the air to the surface and releases energy there over and above that which is conducted or convected through the air to the surface. A large proportion of this radiant energy may be reflected, rather than absorbed and transmitted, if the material of the surface is a reflecting material.” Discussion: Now, let’s reflect on his double talk very carefully. He states that conduction and convection is predominant. Yet, roofs get hotter in the sun, as opposed to in the shade. Why? Let’s just ask a probing question or two. Question: “What is conduction at the atomic level?” Answer: It could be the excitement of the sub-atomic particles by means of radiation. Solid matter is not all that solid. A lot of space exists between the electrons, protons, and neutrons and they are attracted to or repelled from each other by radiant energy. Discussion: It could be that photons exist inside all atomic particles are reacted upon by only another photon striking it. It is more simply the effects of a photon striking, raising the energy of (exciting) and then exiting a material that it strikes. Question: What is the reactant particle that the photon is attracted to? Answer: It is an anti-photon, if you will. Discussion: Remember this statement and it will shed some light on the situation at hand: “In the beginning there was darkness, then there was light.” Question: What particle(s) receives the photon and balances it in the universe? Answer: Again, the answer to the question is always the most simple. Radiation is the simplest of the energies. It is directional and is easily diffracted or reflected. Discussion: Radiation is the root cause of all “other” energy transfer, be it convection or conduction, even plasma is radiant in nature. Radiation is the only energy, this we will prove later. More simply radiation is the effect of the source of a simpler energy. Let’s find the simplest energy and we will find the root of all energy transfer. We will find the answer to how to stop the transfer of energy. Newman has asked this question: “What is the mechanical equivalent of magnetism? Answer: “The cumulative torque values of the aligned masses of the aligned particles.” You can quote me on that. Recall that torque is the action of force on a lever. Discussion: In the case of magnetic force, the lever becomes “more flexible the farther it is away from the source by the Inverse Square Law. Therefore, it will apply more force where the field strength is within the balance point of interaction, if you will, the event horizon of magnetism. Within the event horizon, nothing smaller than or equal to the applied force can escape, everything greater than the applied force can in fact escape. A magnetic field could then be the model for a black hole if the geometry of the magnet was consistent with the model of a given black hole. Question: What could happen if we made an “anti-magnet with the atomic construction the exact opposite of a magnet? (Anti-Matter) Answer: When this magnet is made, you will have enough torque to power anything, since the power would go up by the inverse of the inverse square law! (Squared) Discussion: Let’s look at the facts. Say you could produce a permanent magnet motor that required no outside energy to run continuously with an output of 5 horsepower. That same motor would have an output of 25 horsepower for the same size. Now, how do we contain the anti-magnet material? With a magnet, of course! A magnet is a loose assembly of the atoms of a particular material whose spins and resultant torques are aligned with each other. Question: How do you produce such a magnet? Answer: By sputter deposition of magnetic material to a mold. Concurrently, hold an extremely powerful magnetic force to the deposition site. Questions: What causes magnetism? What causes radiation? What is the root of these three questions? Statement: Let’s also state an irrefutable law by Sir Isaac Newton: “An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by some other force, and an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by some other force.” Statement: Vibration is the evidence of this radiant energy, it is not the cause. It is the signature of the particle being exited by the energy from that is doing the excitement. In other words for the purpose of radiant energy, the vibration is the sum of the maxima and the minima of the photon and the particle. Question: What is the cause of vibration? Answer: Spin is not the cause, it is the evidence of the reactive particle to the cause. Question: What is the cause of spin? Answer: It is the applied force of the photon to the reactant particle(s) contained in the particle being struck by the photon in a manner that induces a rotational velocity. Simple vector analysis will support this. Here is the question that takes us to the root of vibration and radiant energy: Question: What existed before spin existed? Answer: A state of rest. Discussion: So the application of Sir Isaac Newton’s law tells us scientifically that radiation must exist because of the interactions of the universe itself. Question: What caused the first motion? Answer: In a Word: God Said it…. I can’t here You never know what that word might do! Discussion: Since for the purpose of this discussion we cannot start the process of the development of this universe over again, what can we do to limit the interactions and return the energy back to its source or remove it from a field, building or equipment? We must find the reflector for the energy form we are trying to reflect. We must analyze the frequency and the magnitude of the energy and apply a reflector that will return the energy to its source. Or, our only other cure is to reduce its torque, its magnitude by displacing the energy over time. (Insulation) Statement: Let’s look at ways we measure energy when we are talking about radiant energy: Sound: Decibels in a logarithmic scale. Earthquakes: Magnitude on a Richter Scale in a logarithmic scale. Light & Radio waves: See sound. Gamma, beta, and alpha Radiation: You get the point, see sound but use rads instead. Question: What do all of these energies have in common? They all follow the inverse square law. They are all the same energy, which is radiant. They are just different forms of the energy. Discussion: Mr. Faires goes on to state, “On the other hand, many materials will absorb most of the radiant energy that strikes them. We may conclude then that effective insulation against the transfer of heat from radiant energy would consist of a good reflecting material.” (Emphasis added) Answer: In a word, Bingo! Question: Why are we still insulating buildings with mass insulation that is totally ineffective at insulating the heat of the sun? Answer: In the previous paragraph Mr. Faires “...many materials will absorb most of the radiant energy...” No they will not. Discussion: Materials do not absorb radiant energy like a sponge. Materials do redirect or disperse radiant energy by the method of internal reflection, diffraction, and by this action the path of the energy is made longer in relationship from the emitter to the receiver. There is no material that absorbs energy. For example, not even phosphorus will absorb energy, it merely redirects it over and through the shells of each atoms' structure and through the total interaction of a quantity of phosphorus, emits the energy in a time displaced manner. New Hypothesis: Correctly stated then, a material that can redirect radiant energy over time would be called an “insulator” or a time displacer of directed energy. No absorption has taken place, only the path of the energy is longer. There is no material that absorbs energy, no such thing as a black body in this universe, that is, unless we start the process of building the universe all over again. Please note that it is possible to have local anomalies that are doing just that. But, on Earth, our home, energy absorption is not apparently happening. Discussion: The Flow of Energy Energy always flows from a higher source. It always goes from a higher potential to lower potential. For example: from hot to cold, from light to dark, from loud to quiet. Discussion: What Mass Insulation Does: “It redirects and confuses the direction of the radiant energy source so that the direction from the source to the body being heated has the longest possible path given the confinements and restrictions in which the “cool” body exists.” Example: Thermal mass type insulation in a building. Discussion: What Reflective Insulation or radiant barrier does is reduce the element of time to near zero. Since Aluminum is also a great conductor of heat any heat gained by the low mass of the reflective insulation is virtually reradiated instantaneously. The equation: Total Energy = emmissitivity + reflectivity = 1.0 That is 100% of the energy striking an aluminum radiant barrier can be expressed thusly: Total Energy = 0.03 + 0.97 = 1.0 Question: What does reflective insulation in a building for example, do then? Answer: A material that cannot redirect radiant energy over time but redirects energy in a manner where time is minimized would be called a “reflector." Discussion: This is the essence of reflective insulation or radiant barrier. Summary: The only three things you can do to minimize the effect of any energy source is to: 1 Reflect energy 2 Displace it over time. Note: This will not stop the migration of total energy from a high source to a low receiver. It only increases the time value whereby the energy is transmitted. 3 Negate its’ effect by offering its’ opposite. Note: Offering its opposite energy is a calming property capable of redirecting the direction of the energy. Remember that the calming is a local observance only. Question: How does this apply to all energy then? Answer: Find the right reflector for the right wave-length and any energy can be returned to its’ source or diffracted, dispersed. Discussion: Why bother with a lot of mass? Find the right reflector or barrier for a given wavelength. An adaptive matrix of particles, could effectively reflect all energy to its source or diffract it, given that a primary open detector matrix could relay information to a secondary reactive matrix and arrange the reactive matrix by means of magnetic influence then reflect it back to its source. Kind of stealthy, isn’t it? Better yet, Shields up Scotty! Discussion: Particles and Radiant Energy from an Esoteric or Divine Perspective. New thought on the subject of particles and radiant energy: What is the Alpha and the Omega? Answer: The beginning and the end? Remember, “I am the Alpha and the Omega…” Discussion: In God’s universe the Alpha and the Omega are apparent to Him, the I AM! From our limited perspective the edge of our observable universe can be viewed as it was when the observance originated. From this observation, the new edge can be calculated as long as the speed of light has remained constant during the time difference of the observed edge and the now. The result is a triangle of our apparent now position, the apparent observable edge of the universe and the edge of the universe as it may really be now due to the expansion at the speed of light. Please refer to a concept known as red shift. To God, the expansion is not evident and is evident due to the timeless nature of the I AM. This example shows us that, if time = zero, then space = zero. The Alpha and the Omega and the I AM are at unity; they are not a triune principle in this thought form. We can also use this same thought-form to move through the universe. We have this ability because we are created in His image. We have the I AM in us, we are part of the I AM. Therefore, we have the ability to travel through space and time or the lack of space and time in the same manner as the I AM. This is the point, where the ego of the soul personality is required so that the separate self is not lost to the infinite and is kept distinct. From this we see that three points are referenced in the timeless. Point 1: The I AM, GOD. Point 2: The Universe. Point 3: The Self. Discussion of Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity Remember, E=mc2? Discussion: Remember that the speed of light is apparent only in the physical universe. Imagine you are with the I AM physically; the I AM’s universe is with and without you. You are at the beginning and at the end simultaneously, all exists that does and does not exist. In the I AM, c2 is zero or infinite. This is true because all light exists and does not exist, as does all void (dark) exists and does not exist. Now, depending on whether or not the observer is with him or without him time either exists or it odes not exist. Therefore space is within and without the I AM. Space has no meaning, time has no meaning, only the existence of the imagination has meaning. The thought, the soul is the only form with meaning. Question: What does this have to do with Thermodynamics? Answer: Reflective Question: How are you going to stop vibration or radiant energy if you do not understand what the lack of it really is? Discussion: Radiant energy can be observed as the evidence of a particle displaced through time that originated in the I AM and has escaped from the timeless I AM and is now being acted upon by the physical universe in a manner that has existed in the there and in the here. A photon of light is the manifestation of the physical universe. The photon has mass which indicates it displaces both space and time. The photon is the manifestation of the I AM’s statement, “In the beginning there was darkness, then there was light." It is proof that God exists in this universe. Question: How do we stop a photon from penetrating a given space? Answer: We cannot. Discussion: We can only limit the penetration of a given space by using a radiant barrier to reflect a portion of the photons striking it. For example: 100 percent of radiant heat energy strikes one layer of 99.7% pure aluminum. This will reflect 96.8% of the photons that strike its surface. One layer of 99.7% pure aluminum will emit only 3.2% of the photons that continue through the aluminum and continue to excite the surrounding particles. Since in a radiant barrier whose thickness is only 0.03 inches thick (low mass), the time at the speed of light is nominal and the energy apparently emitted is only 3% of that which strikes the barrier. That is to say, time and mass approaches zero. Question: Why? E=mc2 c = 299,792,458 m/s (meters per second). c = (39.37 inches)(299,792,458 meters)(0.003 inches)/ second or in 1.414606001689-8 seconds will enter and leave a piece of aluminum foil that is 0.003 of an inch thick. If another sheet of 99.7% pure aluminum will reflects 96.8% of the photons that strike its surface and these photons were emitted from the first sheet of aluminum, the resultant energy transfer from radiant sources is 0.0967442432 percent of the original energy. Question: What this means is that the existence of photons is the pressure exerted upon all matter that is above the “temperature” of absolute zero. Temperature above absolute zero is a scale of measurement that describes the relative release of the total number of photons from the source of a higher level of energy to a lower level of energy. The opposite is true then. Photons at a complete state of rest can be found at a “temperature” of absolute zero or at ‘P zero’. ‘P zero’ would be darkness. “In the beginning there was darkness, then there was light” Photons are the source of radiant energy in the material universe and are the driving force behind energy radiation. New questions: Question: What is the nature of photons? Answer: Photons are on this side of the veil. Where the photon and the anti-photon meet is at the nexus of the veil. 8 Discussion: I believe that they may change places and take on the characteristics of the other. Photons of either anti-photon or photon existence have the same exact characteristics whether they are in this existence or they are not in this existence. Question: What do the signatures of the photon interactions look like? Answer: The I AM is the a O. (The beginning and the end) 8 is the a and O combined. Question: What is the nature of anti-photons? Answer: They are the same as the photon, there is no physical difference in this material world. They are the constant in the equation E=mc2. They define the veil. On the other side of the veil the attractive and repulsive forces are opposite. That is to say, the farther away you get from the source, from the photon, the more powerful they become. This power increases by the inverse of the inverse square law (squared). Question: What is the source of anti-photons? Answer: In a word, The Word (Mathrem). Question: Where does a photon come from? Answer: In a word, The Word (Mathrem). Question: Where does an anti-photon come from? Answer: In a word, The Word (Mathrem). A Discussion of Stephan-Boltzmanns Law Opening Discussion: Let’s look at Stephan-Boltzmanns law and also the flaws that exist in the law. As stated it is applicable to “infinitely extended and parallel surfaces, between which there is no material which absorbs radiation.” Show me this magic material and prove it to me! Stephan-Boltzmann’s Law Q= 0.172EA [(T1/100)(T2/100)]4 BTU/ hour Where Q is the quantity of radiation from a black body, a body which absorbs all radiant energy which strikes it, is proportional to the fourth power of the body’s absolute temperature. Where: A is the radiating Area of the black body. Where: E is the emmissitivity factor. That’s great but let’s examine what we are saying here! 1 A BTU is the amount of energy required to heat 1 pound of water one degree F. 2 There is no material that absorbs energy. Phosphorus for example will not absorb radiant energy, it merely redirects it over and through the shells of each atoms' structure and through the total interaction of a quantity of phosphorus, emits the energy in a time displaced manner. 3 Correctly stated then, a material that can redirect radiant energy over time would be called an “insulator." 4 A material that can redirect radiant energy with time approaching zero is called a reflector or a “barrier." 5 What does thermal insulation do then? “It redirects and confuses the direction of the radiant source so that the direction from the source to the body being heated has the longest possible path given the confinements and restrictions in which the “heated” body exists.” 6 By definition as stated above, the formula for Stephan-Boltzmanns uses an hour as the standard of measure. 7 Reflectivity of the object being struck by the radiant energy was completely ignored. One minor question, what happened to the reflectivity and also the relationship between reflectivity and emmissitivity? 8 Nothing exists between the two parallel surfaces? Right! 9 In the real world the only place where nothing exists is when the universe is at a state of rest.
