"Twisted"
by Mareth Rowe

Twisted...
This place is so twisted.
Despite the halls,
Convoluted in their own ways...
The school's atmosphere is just that:
Complicated... undefinable...
Twisted.

Twisted...
Twisted that a friendly-looking face
Could be so cold.
How life is a neverending masquerade...
But they never unmask;
Hiding behind their facade of control.
They say they try...
But still it's... twisted.

Twisted...
Twisted how the rich are heard over the common...
How the popular can say opinions,
And people will listen;
Whereas a middle class citizen-
Whose opinions should be heard more-
Are but a whisper above the roar.

Human feelings mean too much...
Emotion is too strong...
But how can we express our thoughts
When nobody listens...
When nobody cares...
When everything's... twisted.
