Archeology is when you dig up old stuff to find out about ancient peoples. Archeologists are very careful when they dig up fossils and artifacts. Fossils are the remains of living organisms, and artifacts are the remains of the things (not living) they used. There are many layers of remains of civilizations one on top of the other. Archeologists can tell how civilizations got better at making things as they compare deep layers with higher layers. They can discover how a people lived by studying their remains. |
