Mt Humphries Summit pictures
Mt Humpries is the highest summit in Arizona.  The peak reaches 12,633 ft-barely below the height which high altitude skydivers jump from their planes.  The trail stretches just 4.5 miles-all uphill.  In fact, the elevation gain is 3313 ft in that short distance.  I guess that this is a former volcano- or dormant one, I should say.  The entire top was just  lava rock.  I had a spectacular time and I hope that you enjoy some of these pictures.  It does not do the trip justice.

The view at the end of the trail
This trail marker coming down appeared to indicate that the trail went straight of the side of the mountain.

Notice the old rockslide piles toward the bottom right and the size of the pines in the background
A couple summit views, notice above the white dome in the background is the stadium in Flagstaff, AZ
