| Minutes from 09-20-05 meeting were handed out and read by all parents present. One change to the Blood Drive date which is the 25th of October. Candi and Ann approved minutes, none opposed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| FYI. Deb Mason who is a licensed counselor started private practice called “Strides In The Right Direction” out of Manito, IL. (309)253-7583. They do therapy with horses for individuals, groups, etc. She handed out some information about equine-assisted psychotherapy with horses. She is the Director of Therapeutic Services, There is now a federal grant that helps with the expense of this type of therapy. Deb talked about the effects that horses have on people and showed us some news clips. Deb Mason’s Ranch takes groups of 5 to 15 students, recently her ranch worked with the defense side of a football team to help them work together. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Secret Santa is scheduled for December 1 & 2 which is Thurs and Friday. Lori Davis spoke about event. Looking for 6 volunteers per day. Talked about having it one night so the parents could also attend, may incorporate the PFK meeting. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| February 4th is the Chili Supper. Debbie Lowman is in charge of the kitchen and was not present. Discussed raffle. Looking for raffle items early this year, preferably before Christmas, companies seem to be more giving. Jay discussed we should ask all suppliers for Rankin, they should be first on list to be asked. Tammy will create a donation letter from Rankin PFK, will leave in office along with a sign-up sheet and organize vendor list with Mr.Prinz. Tammy is chair of fund-raisers. Tammy will bring in for the next meeting, information on the different areas of the chili supper needing volunteers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Signs and Plaques. Luann Bader sent e-mail to Adriane and asked for an exact number of plaques needed and sizes. Adriane will try to get a list together from Debbie or Lori on those plaques needed. Mr. Prinz brought up that PFK might want to create a logo to have on the plaques. Anyone interested in presenting a logo idea needs to bring to the next meeting. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Diana Hasler created a flyer for suggestions on spending this year’s PFK dollars. We will be sending this home so that we can have some input back from parents on ideas. All ideas are welcome but it is still necessary to be present at PFK meetings to be able to vote. (See PFK By-Laws for details.) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Committee Chairs. In November a report should be presented by each Committee Chair and presented to the PFK. Adriane reviewed Committee Chairs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Character Developing Assembly. In mid-November there will be assembly for K-8 in Am and more specific for 7th & 8th Graders in PM. Reviewed expense of helping with the assembly. After discussion by all parents, it was voted to pay the $575.00 on the assembly. Lori Davis brought up that it is good that all children are associated with the assembly. PFK can put there name on the information sheet for the assembly. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Student Council will have Red Ribbon Week and Spirit Week next week. The Blood drive is the 25th. Monday is Crazy Sock, Tuesday is Tie Day, Wednesday is Jersey Day, and Thursday is Spirit Day. Each day has a red ribbon. Organizing Fruit Baskets also for November around Thanksgiving. They are also selling spirit shirts for $10.00. The winning artist was Michelle Kupris. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Speech Tournament. November 4th. Looking for volunteers. Need volunteers for the kitchen and hallways from 4:30 – 7:30. Events are from 5:00- 7:30. 20 kids from Rankin and 25-30 Events. First year hosting the IESA Sponsored Event. $2.00 for adults/high-school and $1.00 for lower grade students. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| State Report Card will be approved by the Board on Monday. Shows what the school spends by %. It shows there was 18% spent on instruction when 75% was put to other. There was numbers put into wrong accounts. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| School system crashed. May not get report cards out on Wednesday but hopefully by Parent Conferences. They are getting a new server and back-up. Mr. Prinz has been working with support to get data back. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Board approved Budget, balance operating budget and audit for this year. Rankin has received the category 4 state’s financial highest recognition for the third or fourth year. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Monday 31st is Halloween Parade and Cookout. Parade will be in the new gym over lunch hours with an extra 10 minutes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Boy Scouts left message with no number. Wanted to know if PFK would be interested in sponsoring them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
