En esta ocasi�n Proyecto Fitness
Bolivariano habl� con Beth Horn, quien es Fitness Pro residenciada en
Chicago, Estados unidos. Se describe como amigable y cari�osa. Piensa que "el
cuerpo es un regalo excepcional de Dios" y que "necesitamos amarlo y quererlo ya
que es el �nico cuerpo que tenemos". Destaca que "un estilo de vida saludable es
esencial para una larga y vida plena", Su carrera deportiva es extensa y como
persona con experiencia en el acondicionamiento f�sico nos da su punto de vita.

Thanks for support our proyect, that will help us to learn about
fitness and integrate ourselves around this sport. As an Athlete in
the IFBB, you must know something about competitions, preparation
and the support Fitness have in your country. Tell us a bit of this..
At which age did you get interested in care your health and body,
and why did you choose Fitness as the way/sport to reach it?
BH:
I
began gymnastics at age 7. Due to a serious knee injury at age 15,
I began weight training in conjunction with rehabilitation I began
fitness in 1998. I wanted to challenge myself and compete again. I
wanted to change my body and set some new goals for myself. I also
wanted to be in the magazines like the other fitness women.

: Gracias por apoyarnos en nuestro proyecto, esto
nos ayudara a que aprendamos mas acerca del Fitness y nos integremos entorno
al deporte. Como atleta en la IFBB, tu debes saber algunas cosas acerca de
las competiciones, preparaci�n y el apoyo que tiene el Fitness en tu pa�s.
�A que edad te interesaste en cuidar de tu salud y tu
cuerpo? �porque elegiste el fitness como el deporte para lograrlo?
BH: Empec� en gimnasia a los 7 a�os de edad.
Debido a una lesi�n seria en la rodilla a los 15 a�os, comenc� un
entrenamiento de pesas conjuntamente con la rehabilitaci�n. Empec� en el
Fitness en 1998. Quer�a desafiarme y competir de
nuevo: Quer�a cambiar mi cuerpo y fijarme nuevas metas. Tambi�n quer�a estar en las
revistas como las otras mujeres del Fitness.

Do Women really want to build muscle?
BH: Women
should build muscle because the muscle actually makes you smaller
and leaner!! I actually weigh 145 pounds, however I am a size 2-4!
Muscle weighs 3 times more than fat! Muscle is the furnace of the
body & speeds up your metabolism.

mujeres realmente quieren verse musculadas?
BH: Las mujeres deber�an
trabajar sus m�sculos porque estos te hacen ver mas peque�a y delgada!!
Actualmente yo peso 54 Kilogramos y soy talla 2-4. ��Los m�sculos
pesan tres veces mas que la grasa!!
El m�sculo es el quemador de tu cuerpo y acelera tu metabolismo. |

you give for people of Fitness Bolivariano What is Femininity for
you?
BH:
Femininity to me is being sexy, confident, appreciating the
beautiful aspects of women's actions: emotions, intellect, physique
and spirit.

BH:
Feminidad es
verse sexy, con confianza, y apreciando los aspectos hermosos de la mujer: emoci�n, inteligencia, cuerpo y esp�ritu.

What is the IDEAL age to start the training for competitive Fitness?
BH:
I
would say in her late teens to early 20's.

que entre finales de la adolescencia y comienzo de los 20's.

What qualities have to have a person that want to compete in Fitness
or to reach athletic goals?
BH:
To be
a great fitness competitor, you must be determined, focused,
dedicated, disciplined.

�Qu� cualidades debe tener una persona que quiera competir en el Fitness y
alcanzar sus metas atl�ticas? BH: Para ser
una gran competidora en el Fitness, debes tener determinaci�n,
dedicaci�n, concentraci�n, y disciplina. |

PFB:
What is the hardest or more difficult thing you
have encountered in your career and how did you overcome it?
BH: There are
always political aspects in everything, including fitness. This can
be difficult to deal with. I just continued on with perseverance
and knew if I worked really hard & stayed focused, it would be my
time one day.
I also broke 2 bones in my foot 12 weeks before the National
Championships. Mentally this was difficult, but I came back
stronger than ever, mentally & physically and won the title as the
Overall National Fitness Champion.

�Qu� es lo mas duro o dif�cil que te has encontrado en tu carrera y como lo
superaste?
BH: Siempre
hay aspectos pol�ticos en todo, incluyendo el fitness. Esto puede ser
algo dif�cil de manejar. Yo siempre continu�
con perseverancia y sab�a que si
trabajaba realmente duro y segu�a concentrada, un d�a podr�a ser mi d�a.
Tambi�n me romp� dos huesos en
el pie doce semanas antes del Campeonato Nacional. Mentalmente esto es dif�cil
pero volv� mas fuerte que nunca, mental y f�sicamente. Gane el t�tulo
absoluto de Fitness en los
campeonatos nacionales. |

What do you do for living?
BH:
I am a personal trainer. I also have a contract with Weider, as
a professional athlete and model. Weider owns all the fitness
magazines. My contract is truly a dream come true!!! |

BH: Soy
entrenadora personalizada y tengo un contrato con Weider: como atleta
profesional y como modelo. Weider es propietario de todas las revistas del
acondicionamiento f�sico.

What do you do in
your spare time?
BH:
Fitness takes up most of my life, including lots of traveling and
modeling, which I love. I also love to rollerblade, biking, hiking,
camping, gymnastics, beach volleyball, movies, reading, dinners,
spending time with friends and family.

PFB: �Que haces en tu tiempo
libre?
BH:
El
Fitness toma la mayor parte de mi vida, incluyendo muchos viajes y modelaje,
cosa que me gusta mucho, tambi�n patino, monto en bicicleta, voy a la playa,
camino por la monta�a, acampar, gimnasia, voleibol de playa, las pel�culas,
leer, comidas de noche, pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos. |
