Our reenacting unit is only known reenacting unit as a whole to portray a vietnam soldier durring the 1965-66-VERY EARLY 67 period. everything we use and each individual carries must be made prior to and been incountry in 1967 with very FEW exceptions which will be listed on the Uniform Requirements page. New members will be required to purchase 1st or 2nd pattern jungles. veteran memebrs will be required to modifi there current uniform to first or second style or buy repros before fridays farm 07
MACV: Kansas has been arround since the late 1970s, when reenacting the period was unherd of and shunned. While now most of these founding members of MACV:K only do Displays with us or have moved on to other reenacting eras, they have passed the torch to us, the younger generation to keep the flame of the memory of the men and women of the vietnam war alive. Most unit members have multiple impressions that they do, but as being a memeber they must have the basic main uniform that we portray before being allowed to use other impressions. Our Unit Founders are the ONLY authorized group to portray memebers of F-co 58th LRRP as stated by the real veterans of said unit from vietnam. They have been attending in-uniform, with these vets at theyre reunions since the early 80's.
THE BIG QUESTION: So if weve been arround this long, why havent you herd of us?
ANSWER: Most members of our unit are not HTML savy. Also weve generaly stayed in our AO (area of operations) for public events and tacticals which we throw together on our own.
We are also in a state of transition. We are organizing ourself to the same structure as most other reenacting units with a chain of command. 1/3 of our current memebers are active, guard, or reserve army. The 2007 year will be about building, with members and supply. The unit should start back attending regular events and start prepwork for our firebase we are going to attempt to host our own event fall of 07
