The Alpha FS aluminum frame, handbuilt in the USA, is welded and gusseted for a bombproof design. The Fully Independent Linkage (F.I.L.) bar varies the rate of the rear shock - it starts supple, but ramps up on big hits so you don't bottom out. F.I.L. has two shock positions to let you dial in the ride. The Bontrager Corvair machined rims and Jones tires are designed by Keith Bontrager for all-around cross country use. The Marzocchi Z.3 Flylight 100mm fork and Fox Vanilla coil shock with up to 5" of rear wheel travel eat up big stuff. ICON Onyx crank and Shimano LX/XT 9-speed derailleurs.
