My 1994 Miata

<bgsound src="zoom.wav">

Here's a little corner of the web dedicated to my Miata. I bought it in September 2000, with 63,000 Kms on it. It's equipped with a 'C' package, and has the BRG color that was only available in Canada and Japan that year.

I fell in love with this little car pretty much when it came on the market. At the time (or shortly after), I got the bug by renting one for a day. It took about ten years to finally getting around to buying one, even after ditching another toy, a modified Mini which I used to Autocross. I don't know what it is, but there's something about small cars with great suspension that seems to keep the little kid in you alive. I like to think of the Miata as a street legal go-kart. If you ever raced go-karts, you know what I mean.

It was stock when I got it, and I haven't had chance to do much to it yet, other than some minor tweaks.
- Custom grille
- Kill Switch
- Timing changed to 14 degrees BTDC.
- Wind Blocker, slightly different as it attaches itself to the cockpit brace and style bar.
- Single hoop padded style bar (Type 1)
- NGK blue ignition wires
- Jackson Racing drop in foam air filter replacement
- Voodoo shifter knob
- Tan leather shift boot
- Factory/OEM front chin spoiler
- Upgraded DRL with brighter & white 2357 bulbs, and added small orange bulbs in outside corners. Looks like this.
- Tokico handling kit (shocks & springs), which drops the car about 1" all around.
- Flashing center brake light
- Stainless steel side marker covers
- Interior lighting

Upcoming changes (parts on hands):
- S/S braided brake lines

Other Homebrew Projects: (pictures to follow later)

- I've made a fiberglass headlight lid, with a built-in scoop. Using the original steel lid as a 'plug', it's relatively easy to make. I've then added an aluminum tube from the snorkel to the edge of the scoop to pick up the colder air. Looks like this.
- I've also made a strut tower brace from a 3/4" mild steel pipe, bought at the local hardware store. Not bad looking for a $5 investment.
- One inch spacer on rear view mirror (to improve visibility with the roll bar)
- Aluminum finish instrument cluster (read: spray painted)
- Aluminum finish gas cap (read: aluminum sheet glued on top of the cap)

Windows 95 Screens:

Show your devotion to the Miata by replacing your Windows start-up and shut down screens with these. This ZIP file has instructions and an installation utility. It actually looks better than what these scaled down images look like.

Windows Cursor:

How about a Miata 'M' cursor pointer?
