Assembly:
The plans call for balsa construction with a light film covering, but I decided to build the whole thing from foamboard. All flying surfaces have the paper backing removed, to save half the weight, but with strapping tape added to the edges to strengthen it and for hinges. The paper backing was kept on the fuse to provide sufficient rigidity. Balsa was only used for the motor mount, and the reinforcement at the tail. I put on a homemade prop saver to protect the prop and fuse from severe impact.Flying:
Flies great and slow, very responsive with the large control surfaces. Flies level at half throttle, and can be flown very close confortably. Very difficult to stall, it recovers in less than a foot without tipping sideways. Glides reasonably well without power, but can be landed very slowly under power. Looks very different in the sky, a mix of a kite and a paper airplane. Pierre Audette
