Joey, Pacey, and Dawson stood in the lobby of a building. Dawson was in the middle of a heated argument about Spielberg with a man he had just met. Joey looked at her watch and sighed in boredom as Dawson continued to drone on and on. Joey looked at Pacey and saw the same look of complete boredom on his face. Their eyes met, and Pacey nodded towards the elevator. A slow smile spread across Joey's lips.

"Dawson," she cut in. "We're going to go up. Why don't you meet us up there when you're done here."

"Yeah I'll meet you guys up there," Dawson said not really paying any attention to her.

Joey rolled her eyes before stepping into the empty elevator. Pacey followed her in and they stood next to each other, but not too close, as the elevator doors shut.

"There is no way you can honestly say Spielberg was not robbed of a best picture Oscar in 1999," Dawson argued.

"Please Saving Private Ryan, while visual an extraordinary movie, it's plot was flimsier than a Jennifer Lopez dress," the man shot back.

"How can you say that? The plot was mesmerizing, and unpredictable."

"Unpredictable my ass. It was hooky."

Dawson's nostrils flared as he sputtered, "Hooky? How can you call it hooky? It was truly moving how they sacrificed themselves."

The elevator dinged, and the doors slowly opened revealing Joey and Pacey still in the elevator locked in a heated embrace. Pacey backed Joey up against the elevator wall. His hands roamed over her body as she pressed up against him desperately trying to get closer. Pacey's hands gripped her waist, and he lifted her body allowing Joey to wrap her legs around him. The elevator door closed again.

"This is complete blasphemy," Dawson yelled completely enraged.

"Okay I think it's time for me to go," the guy responded staring at Dawson like the freak that he was. "It was um interesting talking to you."

The guy turned and practically ran away from Dawson. Dawson took a few deep breathes before walking over to the elevator and pushing the up button. The elevator started it's decent, but stopped abruptly between the fifth and fourth floors. Dawson waited, and waited, and waited. Realizing the elevator was stuck Dawson sighed, and headed for the stairs.

He took the stairs 2 at a time as he was still fuming over his earlier argument. When he reached the top he reached for the door handle, but before he grabbed it the door flew open hitting him in the forehead. Dawson yelped as he fell backwards. He tumbled down the stairs finally coming to a stop at the bottom in a heap.

Inside the elevator Joey smoothed her skirt down. She ran her fingers through her tangled hair as Pacey tucked his shirt into his pants. He looked over at Joey, and she just smiled. He walked over to her placing his hands on the elevator wall above her head. He bent his head down, and gently kissed her before reaching over and hitting the stop button again. The elevator jumped before it started going down.

They continued to kiss until the elevator came to a stop at the lobby. Pacey pulled away gently caressing her cheek before stepping backwards away from her. When the doors opened they were standing on opposite sides of the elevator. Joey walked out first, and Pacey followed her. They stopped as paramedics rushed by with a gurney.

"I wonder what happened?" Joey asked.

A man who was getting in the elevator replied, "Some idiot fell down the stairs and broke his neck."

The moral of the story - If the elevator is a rockin wait until they are done.
