| About Peytona Pony Club | |||||||||||||
| Peytona Pony Club, a member of the United States Pony Club (MidSouth Region), was started in 1998 by Grace Fox, our first D.C. For some general information about Pony Club, I recommend the MidSouth Region' s About Pony Club page. Peytona Pony Club was named after the famous racehorse Peytona. Peytona was born on Forks of Cypress Plantation. Once, she walked from her home to New York to beat Fashion, and then walked home again. We have grown rapidly, and we now have more than twenty members, ranging in age from eight to twenty and in ratings from D-1 to B. Our current D.C. is Deborah Fraser. Most of our members compete at Pony CLub rallies and at outside shows. We have unmounted meetings on the first Wednesday and mounted meetings on the second Saturday of every month. At our September unmounted meeting Pistol Britnell demonstrated farrier techniques and tools and discussed a variety of types of therapeutic shoeing. At our mounted meeting Mary Marshall, a PC sponsor,will be instructed us on equitation on the flat and over fences. Our October unmounted meeting we will be learning about leading and longeing. The mounted meeting will be our annual Halloween meeting! Everyone will come in costume and dress up his or her horse. After a day of riding, we will conclude with a spend-the-night party for the whole club. |
