King’s Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella
Plot summary

Rosella explores the land of Tamir and finds many interesting places. She travels through a waterfall and the cave behind and arrives at the other side of the mountains in the east, where she's able to retrieve the magical fruit that can save her father. But first she has to get Genesta's talisman back from the evil fairy Lolotte. When she steps on the mountain path up to Lolottes castle, she's captured by her goons and taken to her throne Room. She's taken to a prison cell until Lolotte has figured out what to do with her. Fortunately, Lolottes son Edgar falls in love with Rosella, and Lolotte decides that Rosella should be released and marry him, if she first can finish a task for her. Lolotte wants to capture the unicorn that strolls freely in the land of Tamir. If Rosella can get her the unicorn, she will be released and wed with Edgar. Rosella has no choice but to do what Lolotte wants. After several adventures, including a trip over to Genesta's island where she is swallowed by a whale, Rosella finds the necessary equipment to capture the horse and takes it to Lolotte. Unfortunately, Lolotte isn't satisfied with this, but commands Rosella to finish another task. She now wants a hen that lays golden eggs, stolen by an ogre and his wife. Rosella manages to finish the dangerous task of stealing the hen from the ogres and takes it to Lolotte. Lolotte is pleased with this, but demands one final task of Rosella nonetheless. Now she must find Pandora's box and take it to Lolotte. Night falls in Tamir and Rosella has to deal with zombies, ghosts and mummies before she can find Pandora's box. She takes the box to Lolotte, and the evil fairy is finally pleased. Locked up in the castle, Rosella is released by Edgar and manages to destroy the evil fairy and take the talisman back to Genesta. Edgar proposes to marry Rosella, but she decides to say no for the moment. Genesta transports Rosella back to Daventry again, and with the magical fruit, she saves her father from certain death. And everything is well with the royal family again!
