SALVADOR/BAHIA/BRASIL

Welcome to our site. We are located in Brasil. My name is Karen, and I breed Yorkshire Terriers as a hobby. As a hobby breeder I strive to meet and exceed the CBKC/FCI standard. Quality and Health are my guarantee. I do not breed tiny Yorkies. Although I do get very small puppies from time to time. We have been raising beautiful CBKC/FCI (recognized for the AKC) registered puppies.

We choose our breeders carefully, using only those who have good personalities. Excelent bloodlines. Our dogs are free of illnesses of the heart and the kidneys. All puppies will have a record of vaccinations and dewormings he/she has received so that your vet will be able to set them up on a schedule for remaining vaccinations they will need. We offer Shipping as well, all over the WORLD for an extra fee. This fee includes your airline approved kennel, health certificate needed to fly, food and free coupons.

YORKSHIRE TERRIER HISTORY
By Lee Weston

The Yorkshire Terrier had its beginnings as a breed in the Yorkshire, Manchester and Leeds counties in the northern part of England. The weavers of Scotland brought their families and dogs with them when they left their homeland. The Industrial Revolution had forced them out of work. The time was the mid 19th century, 1860’s and 1870’s. The dogs that accompanied these families were for the most part the sturdy Scottish Terrier. The Paisley and Clydesdale Terrier’s bloodlines were probably also included in the bloodlines. These were all working men’s dogs, used to keep the vermin under control in the textile mills and coal mines. What bloodlines were used to establish the Yorkshire Terrier is subject to much speculation, due to the fact that the breeders of these dogs did not write down who was bred to whom. If they liked the spirit and looks of the dogs, they mated them. It was chancey at best.
It is guessed that the Yorkshire county miners crossed the Black and Tan English Terrier, this dog was rough-coated, and the long-coated, blue-gray Waterside Terrier breeds were infused in the Scottish Terriers. The Maltese and Skye Terrier are also possibilities.
In 1865, the foundation sire of the Yorkshire Terrier breed, was born. Huddersfield Ben was owned by M.A. Foster, and he enjoyed a very public life, to popularize the breed in England. He demonstrated that he was very successful in the rat killing contests (these were quite popular in the 19th century), and he won more than 70 prizes as a show dog as well.
In 1872, the Yorkshire Terrier was introduced into the United States, and was recognized by the AKC in 1878. But it wasn’t until the 1930’s that the Yorkshire Terrier took on its modern look. It is important to note that the Yorkshire Terrier up until the 1930’s usually weighed approximately 30 pounds, not the 3 to 7 pounds it does today.

ATENTION: IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT:

What to have before arrival.

1. Our dogs eat "Ossobuco Small Size" (Super Premium Brazilian Food). Similar a Royal Canin or Eukanuba dog food Baby dog if your "yorkie puppy" is 2 lbs at 12 weeks of age if over 2 lbs then place on Mini puppy

2. NutriCal Vitamin supplement( in tube form) one pea size on tongue each morning and night for 10 days. Then only at night for one more week. Nutri cal is a high calorie dietary supplement.
It will help balance you puppies blood sugar level in time of high stress such as over physical play travel etc. The puppy is not to be raised on it it can be addictive and he/she might lose a likening to their dry dog food.

3. Doggie bed. Take with you any time you travel! I have noticed that our puppy seem to prefer the style of doggie bed that are like bean bags fluffy and round and the puppy is raised off the round free from cold drafts which they seem to enjoy

4. Puppy pads. (Use in a confined area such as half bath.)

5. Make a vet appointment with in 72 hours upon puppy’s arrival.

What to do upon arrival

1. Call Airline one hour before arrival to confirm that flight is on time (give conformation #).

2. Bring bottled water and offer to puppy after arrival. do not feed till you get home

3.Give one large size of a pea to puppy on his tongue at this time.

4. Make sure you pull off Health record and shot record from side of pet taxi and take to vet appointment.

5. Give puppy food and water when at home and free feed (leave access to food at all times) for 2 – 4 days if your puppy is 2 1/2 - 3 lbs . If your" Yorkie puppy" is less than 2 1/2 lbs at 12 weeks free feed for one whole month then place on schedule fond on back of Royal Canin feed bag.

6. When you take puppy to vet KEEP IN CARRIER AT ALL TIMES. UPON ARRIVAL AND AFTER ( the deadly parvo virus is passed form one to another by peoples foot ware like shoes boots etc! ) Do not let puppy come in contact with other dogs. Remember when a puppy gets a shot their bodies will need up to 10 days to build up immunity for that particular disease please keep your puppy indoors with no visitors for at least 10 days!

7. Do not take puppy out in public for up to one week allow to adjust to new home environment.

Brazilian Beauty Bambina

West Coast Chows & Yorkies are very pleased with our new addition to  our family "Brazilian Beauty Bambina".  I can not tell enough good things about Karenene and her kennel.  From day one we have been in close contact through msn messenger and that helped alot to comfort our minds.  Every week Karenene would update us and we could see our baby live.  We thank you Karnene for our beautiful baby girl and look to the future to breed her and produce just as amazing pups.  If only all breeders could be like you! "I know I've already said it a dozen times. I  just want you to know how much we appreciate your help. We have learned that we can trust you. Not only that, it seems that you are a wonderful breeder. All of your dogs look so
healthy and clean.  Your home always looks so clean in your pictures. We've visited several breeders that were the opposite and it was very sad to us. We will be naming our new baby Chloe, just so you know... Please, feel free
to use us as a reference in the future. Here is our contact information in case you don't have it." - Erin and Todd Huber, Tampa, FL

"Hi Karen!  I sent you an email at around 2:00.  I'm so sorry you did not get  it.  Chloe arrived safely.  She is wonderful!  She's so clean and healthy. Her personality is terrific.  Todd and I are in love with her.  She is so sweet and lovable.  We could not be happier.  Thank you so much for calling and checking up on her. In the message that I sent earlier I said that Todd and I would like to tell friends that are interested in Yorkies about you, if that's okay with you.  You do such a good job with them.  Please let us know when you finally recieve your money.  Here is one pic, but we'll send lots more soon.  We'll send pics of her new home." - Erin Huber, Tampa, FL
