Chip And Friends VHS Video

The "Chip & Friends" VHS Video is an integral part of the "Chip & Friends" Educational Materials. It utilizes six puppets, songs, colorful graphics, and other supportive material to introduce a number of proper behavior patterns that children need to develop to become good, responsible computer users.

The video was produced by Images in Motion of Sonoma,CA through the creative efforts of Lee Armstrong and Kamela Portuges. Lee and Kamela are recipients of four regional Emmys as producers, writers, and puppeteers, and production designers. Award winning composer and lyricist Rita Abrams of Mill Valley Music wrote the music for the video. The Six puppets received some very prestigious recognition for Special Children's Programming in 1995. They received both an Emmy Nomination from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the coveted SADIE award from the Sonoma County AdClub.

The "Chip & Friends" video has three sections:

A short introduction describing the video and its contents.

A series of six humorous puppet vignettes, each with a running time of only a few minutes. Through the eyes of Chip, a friendly computer puppet, the children will watch as Chip's friends discover the importance of protecting information and using computers in a responsible manner. These puppet vignettes present a variety of important computer related topics in a manner that all students can easily learn and understand.

A complete classroom presentation in front of a student audience, divided into two sessions, each with a running time of about 20 minutes. This entertaining presentation incorporates all six puppet vignettes, two songs, some colorful graphics, and other supportive materials in a manner that will help the children learn and understand some important computer related topics.

NOTE: The video is available in two versions, home and school. The home version does not contain the second section.
