The
Pierre Ft. Pierre Area Humane Society is a non-profit agency devoted to the
welfare of unwanted animals. About Our Pets All of our cats are tested for Leukemia & FIV (we
don’t take any cats which test positive), receive the distemper vaccine
and rabies vaccine, dewormed, receive a Revolution
(fleas, ticks, and mites) treatment, and are spayed/neutered. All of our dogs receive the Parvo
vaccine, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, Frontline Plus, and spayed/neutered. Cats and dogs not deemed medically able to be
spayed/neutered MUST BE spayed/neutered as soon as possible by a licensed
vet. These pets may be taken to Animal Clinic of Pierre (Dr. Craig Howard),
and the spaying/neutering will be 100% paid by the Humane Society. If
you wish to go to another licensed veterinarian, you may furnish us with a
paid receipt and we will reimburse up to the amount we are accustomed to
paying.
