LMKR Celebrates Men's Day
Men's Day was celebrated in April 2002 at Psquare. Zeeshan being the idea generator of Men's Day celebration, started the debate by declaring that this forum is not meant to criticize or blame anyone but to have a healthy discussion about the general attitude of both the genders towards each other in their work places. It was an open forum where everyone was welcome to share his or her ideas and problems. The participants included Zeeshan Ata,Sarmad Tariq, Muhammad Kamran, Imran Yousaf, Tahniat Ashi, Ambreen Malik and Raazia Fayyaz. Atif Raees Khan, CEO of LMKR, also concluded the dialogue in this open forum.
Movie Bug Nite
Automated Testing Department at LMKR was a new one in May 2002 consisting of young and juvenile team members, who came up with this idea when they successfully completed their probation period and became confirmed employees, so they decided to throw out this genebous;treat to all the Techees. Spacious Auditorium of Islamabad Club was the venue selected for the Movie Night and the film showed there was �Ghost and The Darkness.� The show went on very well with everyone going home with a light mood and good note to say about it. Hope this tradition is followed in the future too with all those getting confirmed throwing out such lavish treats to all at LMKR.
A Multinational Fashion Show Extravaganza By Geotechnology
Friday the 7th of June 2002 was a memorable day, never to be forgotten. On Monday, the 3rd of June 2002, it was decided that the GeoTechnology Team would organize an event for Friday the 7th of June 2002 for the whole company. It was decided that the GeoTechnology team would arrange a fashion show for all LMKR employees and their immediate families. By Tuesday all preparations for the event were underway. Venue bookings had been done, all arrangements for the fashion finalized and surprisingly, contributions from the GeoTechnology Team collected within a day. The LMKR Management was, once again, kind enough to sponsor dinner for the event. A fashion show featuring Vaneeza, Aaminah Haq and Natasha was going to be held in the evening. The show kicked off with a band that sang popular Pakistani and Indian songs.
Important thing in this event was that even the majority of "LMKR Models" didn't know what they were getting into when they were selected to be part of the organizing team for the event. So one could think how public could come to now the actual drama.To soothe the bewildered audience there was a magic show with Pepsi, milk, doves and other fluids disappearing and reappearing. There were eager volunteers to help the magician.A Mushaira by talented poets followed this. The Shama-e -Mehfil consisted of an oil lantern passed around the participants who voiced their assorted bitter and sweet sorrows.A sumptuous dinner of Kebabs, Halwa Puri, Biryani and great salad was a feast fit for a King�. or a Queen!The main brain and the organizers of this event consisted of Waqar Malik, Fareed Mushtaq, Mohammad Saqib, Arbaab Muzaffar and Jahanzeb Khan with loads of help from Madam Bunny, Iftikhar Atif, Afaan Anis and Fatima.
LMKR Grind 2002
Following the foot steps of the Automated Testing Team who started the tradition of throwing out lavish treats to all@lmkr, a group of Techees organized a fun filled event at LMKR's very own Cafeteria to mark one year of their services with LMKR.
The contributors of this event were a mix of people from different teams including Asim Ghaffar, Faisal Mirza, Asim Ajmal, Faisal Ghias Mir, Agha Muhammad Ali, Hammad Shahid, Khurram Farooq, Maleeha Javed, Lateef Sagar, Khawaja ObaidUllah, Muhammad Ishfaq & Sara Saeed. The highlights of the function were the songs and skits prepared by Techees. Although the event was named LMKR Grind 2002 but there wasn't much dancing and swinging around by the audience or the participants.
The finale of the show was the song "Dil Dil Pakistan" sung along by all those who were present, followed by refreshments, the most awaited part of the function. In short, the show was amazing & enticing enjoyed thoroughly by all those who attended it.
14th August Celebrations At LMKR
Independence Day celebrations were celebrated with great enthusiasm and good spirit. Since 14th August was a public holiday the event was held on the 13th of August at 5.00 o'clock. We were given badges and green duppattas that morning. We all showed up in white shalwar kameez that day. The entire staff through their behavior displayed the perfect example of unity, faith and discipline. We are truly proud to be Pakistanis!
The main organizers were Arbaab Muzzafar, Haseeb Badar, Asim Ghaffar, Performebs included Asim Ghaffar for music. Vocalists included Abdul Sattar Bajwa, Aamir Siddique, Hina Tasleem, Ali Zamin, Adeel Sanjrani, Zeeshan Baig, Asif Iqbal, Rehan, Yasir Hateem, Mohsin, Haseeb Badar, Tariq Masood and Elahe Ahmad.
The Annual Function
(Thandiani Tour)
As per tradition LMK Resources marked their annual Employers Day on 21st and 22nd of September. This time it was a camping trip to hill resort Far Pavilion at Thandiani. Everyone set sails on Saturday morning. The first stop was Baloch Mess Abbottabad where a lavish lunch was served. By 5:00 p.m. everyone reached Far Pavilion, Thandiani. Everyone was grouped into 16 teams and each of them had their own camps. The teams were made at random so that people from various sections can mingle among each other and get to know each other better.
In the evening the food committee arranged superb refreshments and every team was told to make a skit for the event scheduled for night. Due to power failure things got a bit late but Techees kept the night alive and every one witnessed demonstration of raw talent. Some people gathered around the bonfire and some others started playing cards. Dinner was served at around 10:00 p.m.
After dinner all the teams took the courage to come up in front of the audience and depicted their skits. Even in a very short span of preparation time, teams had prepared skits that were enjoyable and interesting. After this, a local musical band cum dance group came on stage to perform. The Techees had a great time and although exhausted by then never let the show slow down and kept on dancing and singing along the band. After the show all the Techees were divided in 3 groups and an "Antakshari" competition took place. By 3:00 a.m. in the morning people started to leave for their camps to catch up some sleep. Those who stayed behind gathered around the bonfire while Osman Jillani played guitar.
In the morning most of the people were up by 10:00 a.m. Many of them went for a walk to enjoy the scenery. By 11:30 a.m. brunch was served. The annual employee awards ceremony started.
Field Trip To 3D Seismic Data Acquisition Operations and
Production Facility at POL Pindori Area
Pindori 3D field trip was scheduled to acquaint our Geoscientists and IT Professionals with the seismic field activities so as to enhance their understanding of seismic field terminology. Our DPS department had also arranged a Presentation on 2D/3D Seismic Field Data Acquisition planning & design techniques to familiarize and to make the trip more beneficial for the participants.We visited POL Pindori Field on Saturday 24, 2002. More than fifty Geoscientists and IT Professionals participated in the field trip. Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting (BGP), a Chinese multinational had been involved for this 3D Seismic Data Acquisition for POL.
LMKR employees had visited the POL production facility for the separation/processing of Oil & Gas at Pindori production field. Employees were warmly welcomed by the Chief Engineer (Mr. Munir) at the plant site. LMKR had three Petroleum Engineers in their group who also helped all in explaining different facility and gathering system setups at Pindori Oil and Gas Production field.
LMK Resources at the PAPG/ SPE Annual
Technical Convention and Oil Show � Nov�02 - 04,2002
The PAPG/ SPE Annual Technical Convention is held every year in Islamabad. This year the event was jointly organized by the Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists (PAPG) & Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) � Pakistan Chapter and was held at the Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad, from November 2nd to 4th 2002. LMK Resources has always played a major role in these Technical conferences. This year also, apart from being a major sponsor for the event, LMK Resources also introduced, for the first time, the Proceedings of the conference in digital format on a CD-ROM. A web site for Annual Technical Conference and oil Show (www.oilshow.org) was also developed by Najeeb uz Zaman for the first time, containing all information about the event. The LMK Resources support and coordination for this conference was greatly acknowledged by the Chairman of the conference as well as the Organizing Team. LMK Resources had the second largest stall at the Oil Show and had also sponsored the Cyber Lounge for the conference.
EIDMASS
Goodbye 2002
In the chilly and frosty evening of 19th December, 2002 a grand party by the name of EIDMAS took place to commemorate the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr and Christmas in the premises of LMK Resources. It was high time to celebrate the birthdays for the months of November and December and also to welcome the ringing bells of the coming year 2003.
The event was a great success as it had put in a lot of team effort in organizing and conducting the programme. The team spirit was much alive in all the three categories i.e. stage decorators, organizers and singers. The programme was conducted by Agha Muhammad Ali who amused the audience by his peculiar style. The young singers of the team simply amazed the whole crowd. Asim Ghaffar of the IT department , Zeeshan Baig and Rehan were the top voices of the "EDIMAS". Haroon Rashid heightened the effect of the music by his enchanting voice. The organizers of the event included Asim Ajmal, Bisma Ayaz, Huma ,Yusra, Nusrat, Jehanzeb, Sajid Latif, Asim Ghaffar, Farhan Eshaq, Khawaja Obaid , Taimoor, Haseeb Badar, and many many more...
