I called Cheryl up and we set up a time and date for my party. We discussed different games we would play,I wanted the girls to have a really great time.
When it came down to filling out my guest list, I really wasn't sure who to invite. Cheryl told meto invite all of the women I know, but I wasn't so sure. I mean, I just couldn't imagine my pastor's wife. or my mom coming to a lingerie party! Well, I listened to her and decided to try it. I got my address book out and even invited people I hadn't seen in years. I called them all up and asked them if they could come. Sure, some of them couldn't get the time off of work, but 11 of my friends showed up that evening.
Once everyone got to my house Cheryl started in on her presentation. We all cracked jokes as we nibbled on snacks and lookedthrough the catalogs.
We took a romance test! and Oh my! Everyone had a ball!
After the games I found it pretty funny when my pastors wife was rated the most romantic. My girlfriend jamie was rated the least romantic and looked kinda down about it until Cheryl pulled out a sample of Petra's love lotion and tossed it to her to "spice up her love life"
All of us girls had so much fun, Young and old laughed and truly enjoyed spending an evening out together.
I have to tell you, as Cheryl wrapped up her presentation and invited everyone up to try on the garments,I didn't really think anyone would. But they did! All of them. I knew that the more people bought, the more credits,so I was so happy when I saw people filling out their order forms.
My cousin, Ashley came up to me and told me that she would really like to order something, but with being a full-time student,she couldn't afford anything. Well I knew that as a hostess I was getting free lingerie, so I told her about it. Well Ashley went over to Cheryl and, sure enough, she signed up to have a party next week!
When everyone's orders were in, Cheryl asked me to come over. I had done a couple home parties for other companies in the past and knew the hostess programs weren't all that great. Your friends buy alot.. and you get a little. But hey, I thought.. it was worth it because I got to spend the evening with my friends.
Well, when Cheryl informed me that the retail sales were $480.00,I was pretty excited. She then told me that I was receiving $140.00 in regular credit,another $40 for hitting my bonus level and another $40 for having 10 buying guests all for $15.90 cost to me! I was flabbergasted! I also was able to pick a gorgeous set out of the Hostess Only Collection for $19.95(they retail at $100.00). To top it off, I received a 3 day getaway, a special Romance Basket all for just having a show!!
So... I picked out 8 different pieces of lingerie,from the catalog for me,2 things for my husband, a bottle of massage oil and a bottle of love lotion. I then picked out my beautiful Hostess Only Gown, receive all my other gifts, I was astounded at all I could get!

As I was sitting there with Cheryl, I asked her the question I had been dying to ask her all night.
"Do you make alot of money doing this sort of thing?"
"I average about $85.00 an evening and do this about twice a week!"
"Actually I set my own hours . I can work more or less than that if I choose to."
"Sounds like you work for a great company."
" Petra? I don't work for them. This is my own business. They just help me run it. I have a Director who helps me plan my business. The other Consultants are supportive, too. And Petra makes available a lot of the supplies I need at a very low price and ,of course, the lingerie."
"The outfits were so beautiful."
"All of Petra's sleepwear is designed by them, and they offer great prizes,too."
"Prizes?"
"They send consultants to Ireland,Australia,Cancun,and many other places. This year it could be Hawaii. You can earn extra cash and fabulous jewelry,too."
"How many women do this?"
"Petra has people in every state."
"So there must be a lot of competition?"
"No. There are no territories or quotos. Petra handles the deliveries, not me. Plus, they have far and away the best Hostess Program in the country, as you know from your show tonite. You know,we could make this your debut show and you could become a consultant."
"I could never do what you do! Besides, I don't have the money to start my own business."
"You don't need any money. Petea will give you a free $600 kit to get you started;Ther's none of this doing your first several shows for no profit business. And I'll help with everything else,"
I decided to go for it! I was a nervous wreck before my first show.But it went great,and I made over$100 in profit! Now that I've been working my own business for a few months, I wonder sometimes why every women doesn't do this.
My husband is proud of me,My kids are,too.(Why not? I paid for their Christmas presents out of what I made.) Sometimes,my little girl packs up a tiny suitcase full of doll clothes and announces, "I have a show now."
But you want to know the best part? I'm proud of me!
