PETEY'S INFO

Petey, an unseelie redcap wilder

Nicknamed Petey for the black circle tattooed around her right eye. This redcap has, like so many other changelings, lived a full and complicated life. Lost in the Dreaming when she became separated from her motley in Pacifica, she ended up wandering for nearly a year before joining up with a group questing to find the lost sluagh, Niamh. Petey met with the Fiona sidhe, Count Penley Darkmane while on the quest and he fell in love with her. Unaccustomed to the favors of the sidhe, she quickly succumbed to his charms and before long returned his affections. Swearing the Oath of Fealty to Darkmane, she became a knight of his household and a member of the House of Fiona. Their adventures took them into the Far Dreaming and back. They even had a child together, a child conceived in the Dreaming and born in a freehold, he crysalized satyr before birth and was named Brendan Andrew Darkmane.
Petey and Darkmane were later separated when Count Darkmane was temporarily undone after a duel. Always somewhat of the black sheep in Darkmane's court, Petey was encouraged to leave his County and find a new start. The board of Children's Services took Brendan from Petey's care to place him in a foster home and she began to wander again, eventually finding her way to New Breman.
Finally Dan had smiled upon her, although it took Petey a while to realize it. As a Seelie Redcap, she had never fit in with others of her kith, finding instead hatred and derision from them. This time however, for some odd reason, the Unseelie corby offered her a somewhat guarded chance to try and fit in. She made friends in the group and eventually began to realize that she need not fight her Unseelie nature. Having been told that Darkmane would likely never recover, she even began to allow herself to grow close to another. On the night she revoked the Seelie court she also pledged her love to the Redcap, Goblyn Chainbiter. Their courtship was brief and somewhat stormy, but they were eventually wed. They worked together to gain a freehold, but the Duke of the area refused them, causing a bitter grudge to grow in her heart against the sidhe.
Things took a surprising turn for her when she was contacted by Gor, the troll seneschal of Darkmane’s court, and informed that the count had been restored to his fae seeming. He had recovered Brendan from the foster home and they later showed up unexpectedly at Petey’s home, leaving Brendan there to live with her. She and Goblyn also had twin daughters a half year later, Anna and Nadia. Anna named in memory of Baroness Turanna Lanshere, a close friend of Goblyn and Nadia after Petey’s deceased sister. Sadly, Brendan died when a mad sorceress cast a spell on the county, causing all childlings to age overnight to the age of 18. Brendan already suffered from a curse of aging, growing three years for each one, and the sudden shock to his system was too much to take. He was buried out in front of their home, beside a massive oak he’d played in as a small child.
In order to gain further ties within the Duchy, Petey managed to find a place within the Court of Thornwell, as a Reeve. After the chimerical plague that decimated the Duchy, along with the loss of most of the nobles in the area, she was reinstated Reeve of the County. She retired when it became obvious she would not have enough time to raise her family as well as do her duty to the County. Now that her children are a little older, she’s able to once again take up duties in the county. She and Goblyn jointly hold the Fiefdom of Greenwood, running it as a hunting preserve. As well as her duties to the fief, she’s also been named Sorceress of the Barony of Glass, thanks to her efforts to become a Fimmrach and join the Crystal Circle.
