The Geography of Akrage

The Akrage lowlands consist of a large peninsula extending southward into the Tambrelle Ocean. The southernmost tip consists of intermittent swamps and rocky beaches. The swamps gradually yield into a lush forest, home to the elves. There are two major cities, Telshahar the capital that is located in the center of the forest, and Nahale, which lies along the NW edge of the forest where the Hewp River makes it's closest pass. There are also three smaller towns, Jashen, which lies on the northern tip of the forest, Paraai, which lies on the NE edge, and Maharai, which lies south of Telshehar.

On the Western side of the peninsula lays the Akrage Mountains, which extend from about halfway down the peninsula all the way to the top of the peninsula, where they bend eastward and separate the lowlands from the Dule Deserts to the north. The Akrage Mountains are inhabited by the Dwarves and contain three cities. Amik is a small mining town located on the southern tip of the mountain range. Kakara, the capital of the Dwarven Empire is located at the far NW corner of the peninsula, where the mountain range makes its eastward bend. Tharak is a major trade city that is located on the eastern tip of the Akrage Mountains.

On the Eastern side of the peninsula lays the Skagprot Mountains, which are much smaller then the Akrage Mountains. The Sgakprot Mountains extend northward and make a slight westerly bend. These mountains are home to the Gnomes and contain three cities, Ramah, Bigaui and the capital Azgod.

The area separating the Akrage and Skagprot mountains is called The Valley of Hope. On it's northern side, the Valley expands into the Dule Deserts. North of the forest and south of the Valley of Hope are the gentle Alandorian plains, home of the Halflings, with their capital city of Halmack located just north of the forest. Two smaller towns of Gareb Sans and Hope Sans lie in Hope Valley itself. The Hewp River begins in the highlands near Kakara and runs southward towards the forest and then emptying on the southwestern side of the peninsula. Lake Harmony lies just east of the forest and is fed from the Skagprot Mountains.
