The Strawberry Hill Camp in 1995 lasted from Sunday July 23nd to Friday August 4. But the way I experienced it was from Friday July 21st until Saturday July 29th. Then I left for Slovenia and the camp went on to receive the ppl who only did the second week. On Friday the 21st I went to Arnhem to see the Headoffice for the first time and get into the cars that would drive to Slovakia. But surprise, we would not go by car but on Saturday morning a bus from Slovakia would pick us up and just drive us there. So all the people gathered in Arnhem had to sleep somewhere, but in true Loesje spirit, that was quickly arranged. Next morning we got on the bus and drove to Slovakia in about 24 hours. Withs stops etc... We arrived sundaymorning at Camp Jahodnik to find a just awake welcoming team sitting there with the first beers...

Now I can write a complete story about all that we did that week, but pictures are more fun to look at and tell more than words. Have fun............(btw, sorry if loading takes a bit long.....)

In the camp we did a lot of things, but doing it together was most of the fun. Here we are discussing some opinions together. Some names?
Kerstin(Sweden)
Jurjen,Hendrik,Claes-Berend(Holland)
Kirill,Anna(Russia)
Ivan(Slovakia)
As you can see, a real international group.

In Trnva we set out to put up (slovakian) posters everywhere. One team set out to do 'a secret project'. And here you see the result. Just take an empty billboard. Completely cover it with the small Loesje posters and start drawing 'Loesje'. Voila!
I'm sitting on the right.

Another team with a mission. Here it's a blank fence that needed some color. It would have said more than just EUROPE.. but then time was up and we got a bus to catch....

This was at the BIG action. We would hang a 2mx2m poster on a wall at a big square in Trnva. And ask we secretle expected. The local police arrived. But now communism is gone in Slovakia they have to pretend to have any power, but actually they don't know what to do.....

Here you can see the poster in the back. We were not allowed to continue but with a little distraction we got the bottom 2 parts on the wall too... And they were just standing there, and we danced around them. The poster says:
BOMBARDUJME
AMERIKU
NASIMI
KULTURAMI
(let's bomb America with our culture)

Hey, I needed to relax a bit too!

And finally... accidents happen too. Even in a Loesje camp. Lucky that Slovakia has hospitals too. And she did get all international signatures!

Right! Now this isn't all, but it's late and I need to reload my inspiration. If you got any comment on this page, Email Me!
