Welcome child into our family
Washed in water, reborn and free
A sign on your forehead and your heart
The cross that never will depart
Allelujah Allelujah
Allelujah, Come and sing
Chorus
Stirrin' up the water
Stirrin' up my soul
A light comes to the darkness
Come and make me whole
Oh Stir it up, stir it up, Oh Lord
The call goes out to near and distant lands
Come all you children into my hands
Grow like branches on the living tree
Washed in water, reborn and free
Allelujah Allelujah
Allelujah, Now we sing
Chorus
Stirrin' up the water
Stirrin' up my soul
A light comes to the darkness
Come and make me whole
Oh Stir it up, stir it up, Oh Lord
Comfort and joy the spirit brings
In darkest trials, drink from the spring
Hear the promise that no time could ever
hold
That's forever, for young and old
Allelujah AIlelujah
Allelujah, Lord we sing
Chorus
Stirrin' up the water
Stirrin' up my soul
A light comes to the darkness
Come and make me whole
Oh Stir it up, stir it up, Oh Lord
EVER WALK WITH ME
LORD Micah 6:6-8 return

For Pastor Mary Helwig
Refrain
Ever walk with me Lord
Each night and day a rejoicing
With kindness the harmony, justice the
beat
You’ve turned my footsteps to dancing
Oh Ever walk with me Lord
How can I come before You?
What worthy gift could I bring?
What glorious feast could I offer?
What songs of majesty sing?
Lift this heart of sadness into gladness
by Your peace
Before I can come before You, You come
to me
Refrain
Ever walk with me Lord
Each night and day a rejoicing
With kindness the harmony, justice the
beat
You’ve turned my footsteps to dancing
Oh Ever walk with me Lord
In my work I grow weary
Lost on this road of desires
Where is the path that leads homeward?
To bring me back to Your fire
Lift these eyes of sadness into gladness
at Your peace
I am lost and weary, come shepherd me
Refrain
Ever walk with me Lord
Each night and day a rejoicing
With kindness the harmony, justice the
beat
You’ve turned my footsteps to dancing
Oh Ever walk with me Lord
A million voices surround me
How can I hear when You call?
When at last grace has found me
Will I recognize it at all?
Lift this song of sadness into gladness
at Your feast
To hear Your voice is calling, come walk
with me
Refrain
Ever walk with me Lord
Each night and day a rejoicing
With kindness the harmony, justice the
beat
You’ve turned my footsteps to dancing
Oh Ever walk with me Lord

There is a wind that moves all around us
Making the sound of a song if you listen
And yet we wander over the world
For a place to belong to replace what
we're missing
We bring our differences, our hopes, our
faith and fears
We'll build a home for love in this family
For the light that brought us here
Chorus
With a blueprint for living
Each new day is lifted up
For this house we lay a foundation
On the cornerstone of love
The face of this world is changing and
turning
What are we learning and what is our vision?
We build the walls of strength deep inside
us
They must not divide us, become our prison
We bring our differences, our hopes our
faith our fears
We'll build a home for love in this family
For the light that brought us here
Chorus
With a blueprint for living
That calls you back from where you've
been
In this house we build a doorway
To send us out and welcome in
There is a river of life all around us
It's our common ground, the gift we are
given
Ocean and sky, the wild of the forest,
Were here long before us and meant for
all children
We bring our differences, our hopes our
faith our fears
We'll build a home for love in this family
For the light that brought us here
Chorus
In this blueprint for living
From the word that touched the earth
Round this house we plant a Garden
God's grace is our rebirth
Lend your voice in celebration
Lend your hand in lifting up
This is the day of creation
Built on the cornerstone of love
LOOSE IN THE WORLD

Through the wires it rips and rages
High above the farm and city griddle lines
Through the ink of thinking sages
Sleepin' man in a bed of pages, weaves
the hand of the divine
We got our maps and clues, police and policy
Still we cannot trace the spirits nest
We hunt for miles and all the while it
paints the scenery
Scatters and whirls an arabesque
Chorus
Hey ey Hey ey this mercy moves
God is loose hey ey
God is loose in the world
Hey ey Hey ey the universe is singing
Loose hey hey Love is loose in the world
We better lock him up the crazy man
He's causing trouble, brewing storms
Traded fashion for compassion
The revolution fought with kindness not
a sword
The word went leaping off the pages
Breaking in the windows and leaping over
walls
All you asked for was a cool glass of
water
And you got a waterfall
Chorus
Hey ey Hey ey this mercy moves
Love is loose hey ey
Love is loose in the world
Hey ey Hey ey the universe is singing
Loose hey hey God is loose in the world
Tears of sadness for the hands that kill
Tears of joy when life is born
Hear the song of freedom and my sails
are filled
In a rusty nail a cross and a temple curtain
torn
Chorus
Oh Oh Oh Oh hear the news
Love is loose hey ey
Love is loose in the world
Hey ey Hey ey the universe is singing
Loose hey hey God is loose in the world
"A" IS FOR ANGEL
return to the top of the page
Peter Mayer
Men from Mars and dinosaurs, walk through
the house all day
I'm going crazy, yes it's true, I'm hoping
that helps on the way
You've got work to do, you're re-decorating
the place
With Kingin kongs and dinging dongs, that's
easy for you to say
Little shoes bring me the news, the sky
has come down to play
Winter snows and summers will go, with
no time for yesterday
A is for Angel, that's where we start
A is for Angel, took hold of my heart
Green hair, Marble eyes, lips a new shade
of blue
Anything that comes your way, you paint
with the colors of you
When my world is falling apart and I can't
remember my name
Little one comes and laughs at me pulls
me back into the game
A is for Angel, that's where we start
A is for Angel, you've stolen my heart
"B" may be for the "back" that's turned
on you . . .
"C" for the "cruel" winds that knock you
down
"D" for the "door" that can't be opened
anymore
And "E" is for "everything" comes back
around,
Comes back around to you
Sleep child, the world is wild, you'll
need your dreams to get through
When out go the lights, we'll turn on
the night
The moon and stars shine on you
A is for Angel, that's where we start
A is for Angel, you've stolen my heart
LIGHT MY WAY
return to the top of the page
Peter Mayer, Patricia O'Reilly
For Ron Glusenkamp
When morning sun brings the dawn, Love
light my way
Lead me on a world turns 'round and night
enfolds the day
Through spinning seasons, reeling change,
Lord light my way
Each one in rhythm with the song of life
you did create
Surprised us with grace
Beside us you stay
Recognized us for who we are and whose
we are by name
Chorus
Oh Lord Light my way
Love light my way
Together now we pray
Oh Lord Light my way
Rest will follow labors, hope will answer
fear
The harvest of our laughter for the seeds
we sow in tears
We work, we worry, strive for faith, Lord
light my way
All the while we're in the arms of love
we can't escape
Beside us you stay
Surprised us with grace
Recognized us for who we are and whose
we are by name
Chorus
Oh Lord Light my way
Love light my way
Together now we pray
Oh Lord Light my way
Joy, Joy, you shine on us
Lord light my way
Peace now you set us free
Love light my way
Bind us in these chains of love
Lord Light my way
Send your blessings from above
Lord Light my way
WE ARE CHANGED

Peter Mayer
Thanks to Pastor Art Goings
In the silence, in the singing
Oh Lord we gather now to journey on
Send forth Your Word that sets our geet
to dancing,
Captures all creation in a love song
You can hear it in the gentle of the morning
In the mighty wind blowing on the sea
It will be waiting when your heart has
broken
Will be there in the sound of victory
Chorus
We are one in God our creator,
Reborn by the breath of the spirit
We belong by the blood of the Lamb
In the joy of this dance we are changed
. . .
You turned the bitter cup to sweet wine
from the vineyard
Turned hardened hearts into milling stone
You offer the feast and call us to Your
table
And a new seed for living and forgiving
is sown
It will bloom in the gentle of the morning.,
In the might wind bending every tree
It will whisper when our faith is shaken
And shout in the sound of victory
Chorus
We are one in God our creator,
Reborn by the breath of the spirit
We belong by the blood of the Lamb
In the joy of this dance we are changed
. . .
We are joy, we are broken pieces
Upon a spinning, changing world we are
borne
But for the love that will not release
us
Our Rock of ages and our carry home
And we'll sing it to the hills and the
valleys
From every land 'cross every sea
We will sing it when our hearts are breaking
And rejoice in a final victory
Chorus
We are one in God our creator,
Reborn by the breath of the spirit
We belong by the blood of the Lamb
In the joy of this dance we are changed
. . .
MIGHT THIS LOVE
return to the top of the page
Peter Mayer
From the first bird of the morning
'Till I lay me down the day
I walk this road and pray for light to
show me (the way)
The heavy load I carry
My treasure and my loss
I weary and I fall, who will hold me?
Longer than shadows
Closer than emptiness
Oh . . . Mighty this love
Oh . . . Mighty this love
It led me to peace at the river
It woke me in the rage of the wind
Called me up to the mountain, back through
the valley again
I knew it in the touch of my Mother's hand
I crumbled and it held me fast
My first song of the morning, it will
be my last
Patient in winter's sting
Restless as coming spring
Oh . . . Mighty this love
Oh . . . Mighty this love
This love is . . . Strong enough to be
weak
Brace enough to speak
These arms are longer than we can believe
Kind enough to lift you off your knees
Oh . . . Mighty this love
Oh . . . Mighty this love
ONLY YOU
return to the top of the page
Jim Mayer, Peter Mayer
Only You can break down the walls that
hide me away
Only You can turn the night into day
Only You can stop the darkness from over
taking me
Created the land the sky and sea
I know it in my heart to be true
The answer to me is only You
Only You can stand beside me through all
my thoughts and deeds
You raised the mighty Redwood from the
seed
Only You formed the mountains that stretch
to the sky
Cover them with moonlight tonight
I know it in my heart to be true
The answer to me is only You
The beauty...that shines…from a face
touches you… touches me... vision of grace
The hand that leads...to the place of
peace and understanding
... touches you... touches me...
I hear You in the gentle wind blowing through
the trees
I hear You whisper in my dreams
Only You conceived the starlight that
shimmers through the night
Only You can cult mc home from this life
I know it in my heart to be true
The answer to me is only You
PASS IT ON
return to the top of the page
Peter Mayer, Patricia O’Reilly
Refrain
From a raindrop to a river
From one word iota a song
Source of all gifts, Friend and Forgiver
Bring as together, to pass it on
He has called so, all creation
Every woman, child, and man
To bring our gifts in celebration
To be transformed in the Savior’s hands
Refrain
From a raindrop to a river
From one word iota a song
Source of all gifts, Friend and Forgiver
Bring as together, to pass it on
In the Word the walls will crumble down
And all are welcome to enter in
In the blood of Christ the great sacrifice
The withered branches bloom again
The withered branches bloom again
Pass it on
Break the bread, lift the cup
Pass it on
The broken will be lifted up
Every gift grand and lowly
Every purpose great and small
At this feast they are made holy
By your name you have been called
By your name you have been called
Refrain
From a raindrop to a river
From one word iota a song
Source of all gifts, Friend and Forgiver
Bring as together, to pass it on
YES I WILL
return to the top of the page
Peter Mayer, Jim Mayer
I will love you forever, yes I will
Follow you like a river, yes I will
Swing low and swing high, the years may
come and pass you by
But all my life I'll love you still, yes
I will
On the rock of faith we stand, yes we can
But a long hard road may stomole you mm
mm
For every woman, every man, so much of
love we don't understand
But when is comes to take your hand, say,
"yes, I will."
For today
Come what may
In this house of love we'll build say
Yes I will
Yes I will

| THANKS TO: |
Eight years ago I started writing songs
for specific occasions in and out of the church; a baptism, a wedding,
a dedication. Occasionally people would ask if we had recorded them
and where they could be found. After a few years we had collected
enough songs that my brother Jim and I decided it was time to commit them
to CD. What began, though, as a simple recording of guitar and voice
grew into a mammoth3 month long journey that I simply could not have done
without Jim's being willing to work impossible hours engineering, performing,
and mixing these songs. Thanks, Jim, for making the spark of an idea
into music. Thanks also to R. Scott Bryan for his percussion and
engineering work; all inspired, and done under the constraint of limted
time. Kudos to Mark Holland and Ron Vince for their special musical
additions to these songs. |
