I moved to Scotland a few months ago, but was born and bred in the Welsh Valleys. I was looking for the Telegraph Crossword, and came across you - and had a twinge of homesickness. I just thought I'd say hi, and that I hope you got to see the England v Wales Five-Nations rugby match a few weeks ago! Nice page Peter, with some interesting things. I don't agree with you about labeling being a modern trait though. As a Law student with a keen interest in sociology, I can assure you that Lambrosa may have been the first to write about the labeling theory, but it has and always will be in existence. You can't tell me that you are completely objective and that you have no preconceptions about the people you meet and come in contact with.

My kids were being looked after by a girl called Miranda today, so I asked her "Do you remember an inn, Miranda?" as a ghost of my school poetry scudded through my mind. As a middle aged man, you can say things like that to young girls!
