Peterhead entertained Huntly BC in the preliminary round of the Scottish under 13 years cup at Barclay Park Peterhead.
Peterhead had to make some changes to the team because of some late call offs but the rearranged line up got down to the task straight from the kick off.
Peterhead went in front after only 8 minutes when Steven Davidson rifled a twenty yard shot into the top corner.
Scott Walker then put through a lovely ball to Scott Leckie who fired his shot over the bar.
Peterhead were playing some lovely football and Huntly were finding it hard to get into the game.
Peterhead scored again when Aidan Innes crossed over for Kyle Ritchie to tap in.
It was one way traffic at this time and Peterhead were squandering some good chances.
In twenty minutes Peterhead went three up after some good link up play from Kyle and Shaun Anderson and the resulting cross was tapped in by Scott Leckie.
Ryan Urquhart who had come up for a corner kick saw his strike just skim by the bar as Peterhead went to finish the game off in the first half.
Steven Davidson who had been drafted into the centre of defence for this game was controlling the game and his surges up the field were unsettling the Huntly team. In thirty minutes Huntly had their first serious attack and Alexander Buchan was quick off his line to block the dangerous run from their forward.
Peterhead finished off the half with their fourth goal when Scott Leckie crossed over and the challenge from Shaun Anderson on the defender forced the ball over the line.
Half time 4-0
Huntly started off in determined mood and played some neat moves, and it was no surprise when they scored after 5 minutes when their striker finished off a good move by firing over the keeper.
Kyle Ritchie then crossed a great ball to Scott Leckie who finished with a thunderous shot into the net.
Peterhead went 6-1 up after Jack Mclean won the ball in the penalty box and Scott Leckie was on hand to stroke the ball home.
A quick free kick by Kyle Ritchie was headed over the bar by Jack Mclean as Peterhead found their rhythm again and were pressing Huntly back into their own half.
A good ball into the box by Scott Walker was met by Scott Kelly and Scott was unlucky to see his overhead kick go over the bar.
Aidan Innes scored after a super run through the Huntly defence and finished with a cool shot under the keeper.
Huntly never gave up and scored again when their very slick midfielder turned in the box and lobbed the Peterhead keeper.
Peterhead went straight up the park from the kick off and Connor Wilson just scraped the bar with his shot.
Connor again made a determined run up the wing and after shaking off two defenders his cross went over the keeper which was met by Scott Kelly to make sure.
The referee granted the goal to Connor Wilson.
Scott Walker then made it 9-2 for Peterhead when he unleashed an unstoppable shot past the despairing Huntly keeper.
This was the first taste of the Scottish Cup for Peterhead and they have been drawn at home again in the next round against Ferryhill from Aberdeen
