Batts Trophy
Ferryhill BC 4-3 Peterhead BC
at Aberdeen
Scorers : Scott Leckie, Kyle Ritchie
Steven Davidson
Peterhead travelled to Aberdeen to play Ferryhill BC in the last league section game to decide which team goes up to the A league.
Peterhead only needed one point to qualify but knew they were in for a hard game as they only beat Ferryhill in the Scottish cup last week 4-3
Ferryhill were quick off the blocks and Peterhead found themselves down a goal in the first 15 minutes when their alert and impressive centre forward sneaked in behind the Peterhead defence and rattled home his header past the diving Peterhead keeper.
Peterhead were caught cold and it was with the run of play that  Ferryhill scored again after 20 minutes when the defence was caught out and their striker finished off the move with another goal.
Peterhead were beginning to come into the game and a great run up the wing from Aidan Innes saw his terrific attempt just fly over the bar.
Aidan again crossed over a tempting ball which evaded the Ferryhill keeper only to see Scott Leckie misjudge his header and the opportunity was missed.
Peterhead were driving forward now and after some great passing from Jack Mclean and Kyle Ritchie,
Scott Leckie made no mistake this time and fired in a strike under the keeper.
Hal time 2-1 for Ferryhill
Peterhead came out stronger the second half playing some lovely football and with only 10 minutes gone equalised with a super goal after Lewis Lawson made a determined run through the Ferryhill midfield and his pass was met by
Kyle Ritchie who finished off with a terrific strike uner the keeper.
Peterhead were back on top at this stage and only a great save from the Ferryhill keeper kept a shot out from Aidan Innes as Peterhead battled for the winner.
Ferryhill shocked Peterhead against the run of play when they broke up field and after a suspicious offside position scored to put them again in front.
Peterhead had lost their shape and Ferryhill again looked to be offside was left to run at the Peterhead defence unchallenged.
Peterhead came bouncing back and Steven Davidson was unlucky to see his shot just go by the post with the keeper beaten and shortly after Steven again made a dangerous run past the defence only to see his attempt whiz by the post.
Peterhead were throwing everythibng into attack now and they were rewarded when
Steven Davison burst past two derfenders and scored with a low shot into the corner.
Although Peterhead kept pushing forward the Ferryhill defence stood firm and the game finished 4-3 Ferryhill.
This result puts Peterhead into a play off situation now as three teams have now six points and only one team is promoted to the top of the league.
Man of the match for his hard work and terrific play was Aidan Innes.
