| Peterhead Boys Club under 13 years team started off their season with a fine win against Riverside Boys Club from Aberdeen in a league cup game. Peterhead BC V Riverside Boys Club Peterhead started the brighter team and within minutes Aidan Innes had a chance to score when he broke through and fired a shot which went by the post. After some good build up play from Steven Davidson in midfield Aidan had another shot deflected round the post by the Riverside keeper. Peterhead were battling into a fierce wind but still they were keeping Riverside back in their own half with some neat passing moves.Shaun Anderson was next to try his luck with a fierce shot which rattled off the post and then a few minutes later Shaun again saw his strike come off the post. Just when it looked as Peterhead were going to struggle to convert their chances Aidan Innes received a terrific pass through from Jack Mclean and ran by the defender and finished with a clinical strike. Peterhead went on to score again when Jack Mclean latched on to a rebound off the post and stroked the ball over the line. Riverside pulled one back after their winger slipped by the Peterhead defence and fired a well struck shot across the Peterhead keeper into the corner of the net. Alexander Buchan was having a splendid game in goals for Peterhead and his safe hands were cutting out any danger from the wind assisted strikes from Riverside. Just on half time Peterhead increased their lead when Aidan Innes finished off a splendid move from Lewis Lawson and Jason Bain with a cool strike past the diving keeper. Half time 3-1 Peterhead had the wind in their favour now and made a few substitutions to the team in the second half. Shaun Walker who has a natural talent in being in the right place finished off another neat passing move from Ryan Urquhart and Kyle Ritchie with a tap in from 6 yards. It was all Peterhead now and Andrew Buchan in goals from Peterhead in the second half was just a spectator with only one save to make. Kyle Ritchie who had been tormenting the Riverside defence all day capped his display with one of his trademark goals, cutting inside the defender and rifling a shot past the keeper. Connor Wilson was giviing a determined display in midfield and was always in the thick of things. Kieran Bruce who was playing sweeper made a great run up the field and fired in a twenty yard shot past the keeper and Peterhead went ahead further from a cheeky back kick from Shaun Walker. Scott Leckie made it eight with the last goal of the game when he finished another slick passing move from Jason Bain and Ryan Urquhart. Peterhead played well in difficult conditions and the defence stood up to all that Riverside could throw at them against the fierce wind in the first half. Man of the match went to the hard working Jack Mclean who was the play maker in all the neat football coming from Peterhead.
