| To My Congressional Representatives | ||||||||||||||||
| In response to the Armed Services Committee member Congressman Walter B. Jones, Jr. of North Carolina and his reversal on support for the successful conclusion of the U.S. mission in Iraq: |

| Congressman Jones, Call it what you will. (Congressman is calling for the President to set a date for troop reductions/withdrawal of troops from Iraq). Thats what the U.S. Legislators all do now, they just spin every decision, action and opinion instead of demonstrating any real moral courage by speaking plainly about what is necessary rather than what is popular. I could care less about your party affiliation. I am counting you among the fallen legislators. Your reversal on the Iraq war demonstrates a real lack of vision and wisdom. It also calls into question your commitment to this nation all the way back to your service in the National Guard. In your haste to save any more American soldiers from dieing in Iraq you are, in effect, diminishing the sacrifice of those who have fallen and the families who have made extreme sacrifices already. The United States of America has made a commitment to Iraq and the world to have a military presence in that fledgling country until the job is finished. What you propose is tantamount to quitting which is not consistent with the U.S. military, a modern force comprised of committed professionals. |
