The Chinese language is the most widely spoken in the world, due to the huge amount of Chinese people. China covers a huge area of the planet. Greece. The Greek nation was a nation of Philosophers and scholars, and ruled a large area, A very sophisticated nation, and a force to contend with. Egypt. Land of the Pharaohs, this nation ruled a huge amount of the middle east, and was the superpower of its day. Italy. Land of the Roman empire, and stretched from the Scottish boarders to the middle east, One of the largest superpowers of history. Norway, Sweden, Denmark. These Scandinavian countries, united under the banner of the Vikings. Feared by anyone who came across them. They conquered North America first, but did not stay. They conquered many parts England, where it was better to let them settle than fight them, they conquered a large amount of the land of the Franks, including Normandy, some of the conquered land later became, Austria, Germany, and Belgium. Most certainly a superpower of its day, and the origin of the Garbett family. Asia, The Mongol Empire Living on the plains of Asia, Led by Genghis Khan, they where nomads, and created the worlds largest empire in history. The Empire stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the River Danube. Africa, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea, Mali, and Senegal. In the 1300s most definitely the superpower of Africa, made wealth from trade of Gold, Salt, and Slaves. Mexico, The Aztecs. The Aztecs of Mexico, conquered a huge area of Central America, and dominated other native Indians. The original superpower of North America. America, The Incas. The superpower of its day in South America, from its base in the mountains of Peru. Spain and Portugal. Spain was the Superpower of Europe in the 1500s, and both Spain and Portugal led the way with explorers to America and Asia. Large areas of South and Central America where colonised by them. Africa. Other Muslim empires where that of Songhai, a Muslim empire that controlled trade across the Sahara Desert from its capital in Gao. Another Muslim empire covered modern day Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger and Libya. Arabia, Ottoman Empire Turkey, Stretching from Algeria to Arabia, and from Egypt to Hungary. A force to be reckoned with, and a superpower of its day. India, Mughal Empire. Ruled a mighty empire in India for nearly 300 years. Dutch Empire. Built on wealth from trading. Built up during the 17th century. France. A superpower of history, with its colonies and strong armies from medieval times, and the original language of the Courts of Europe. Russian Empire, and later USSR. Russia has been a force to be reckoned with since the time of Peter the Great. And of course as the Soviet Union. The British Empire. Britain became the most powerful nation in the world under Queen Victoria, Trade and industry had helped make it one of the richest countries in the world, Containing a quarter of the Worlds land, and a quarter of its people. And several of Queen Victoria's children married into other European Royal families. Germany and Japan. The German Empire, took over from the Holy Roman Empire, and for the few years of the WW2, Germany and Japan ruled a huge area of the Globe. United States of America. The superpower of our day, The United states is the most powerful country in the world today. |
