4th Generation: At this point Im going to have to call it quits on details. There are over one hundred separate names that I have on this generation. I also have extensive information on the 5th, 6th, and 7th generations . Most of these people are alive today. Due to this fact Im asking that if a person would like information on any further descendants that they contact me. I welcome any inquires from those wishing to exhange information with me.
Thanks:
I must at this time credit several people with helping me and for their tireless efforts in helping me and answering numerous questions.
First off , I need to thank my husband Michael. He has put up with many long periods with me behind the computer entering information. It is not uncommon for my husband to find me in front of it early on a Saturday or Sunday morning trying to sneak in a few minutes before everyone awakes. I love him dearly and hope to repay him by having as much success researching his side of the family as I have had with mine.
I must thank my mother for so generously allowing me to commander the information she has gathered from various sources. Several times I have just shown up and said Give me.. or I need... Then what Ive asked for disappears for weeks, months, and in some casesyears, while I ponder it, read it, and for the last six months, transfer to it to the computer.
I must thank my Uncle Bruce Daniel and his wife Janet. They did extensive geneology work back thirty years ago and Janet still works on it today. The bulk of information I have on the Garbett and Whittingham families came from the information they gathered in the 70s.
I must thank Peter Garbett. He has finally been able to find the missing link between our two lines, it took place in 1553. He has provided the impetus for me to organize and get the ball rolling on the American Garbetts. He is an amazing source of information on the English side of the family ! So therefore if someone asks me for info and I dont know it I refer them to him. He has provided the wonderful background info on the Garbett family name. By issuing the World Wide Challenge and creating the Garbett Geneology Website he has created many new links and friendships within the Garbett Family. His wife Carole must have the patience of a saint!
I must also mention my cousin Debbie Sullivan in San Diego, CA. We have never spoken to each other personally, but have exchanged emails on almost a daily basis since we found each other. She has been a wonderful source of information on my current, living cousins and put me in contact with a couple of them. We have found many common interests and enjoy chatting about them and the family too. I look forward to the day that we may actually meet in person and giving her a big hug!
My final thanks goes to one of my cousins (on my grandfathers side of the family) Katrina (Montgomery) King. She unknowingly gave me my first taste of geneology when I was about eight or nine years old. I have fond memories of watching her doing her research. She would take us with her to the Family History Center occasionally. I recall sitting with her in front of a microfilm machine and looking up names and birthdates on the machines and being fascinated with it. I love her dearly, think of her daily and consider her my second mom. |
