ZooNews Digest is a weekly compilation of links to Zoo News from all over the world. Established several years ago the digest includes short articles, vacancies and related information. It has been e-mailed out weekly for over nine years. ZooNews Digest has well over 4000 readers in over 590 zoos and aquariums in over 74 countries around the world. ZooNews Digest Subscription
When ZooNews Digest was first started ten years ago it was, and remains a free service distributed to friends and colleagues. I have never charged and I have not profited in any way shape or form over the years. It has not been without costs however and I have shouldered all of these personally (hours of research and collation each day, computer, software, phone and internet bills). Sadly, I cannot continue to do this. I have held of as long as I could but present finances make this prohibitive to impossible.
The thing is, I don�t want to change the format and start compulsory charging. I know there are people out there who genuinely cannot afford it. I am also only too aware how easy it is to press the �forward� button and so to cheat the system.
So I am looking for voluntary subscription donations from those zoos and individuals who can afford it. Think of it as a magazine that you would purchase once a week. What�s it worth to you on an annual basis? Of course you could donate weekly or monthly, six monthly, whatever is easiest. It may well be you think the Digest is of no interest, not worth anything to you, then so be it. Perhaps you only subscribe because it is free, then okay, fair enough. You have the choice. All I ask for is honesty.
If you are subscribing for the first time. Give it a try for a few weeks. Donate if you think it is worth it.
