Herku is a made up word. It is part "Haiku" and part "Her", the two words coming together in my head as I began to learn more about the portraits that were flying into my head and out through hands.
These portraits represent the confluence of my long-standing poetic investigation of the world and my hand's desire to do more than tap the keyboard.
It has dawned on me that art is the soul expressing it's point of view, its opinion of the world as seen through the eyes, heard through the ears, felt through the skin, and tasted with the mouth. But it is also the world encountered via the spirit.
The titles represent a strictly emotional response to the finished work. Please feel free to name them as you like. They are very amenable beings, pleasant company.
These portraits are teaching me. I hope they at least entertain you somewhat. They are not my "babies" to be coddled and hidden away. They have their own life, no longer belonging to me alone.
