Review on some gamez

007 James Bond Nightfire
Hmm, now there isn't any gore in this game but doesn't take away the fun factor of randomly shooting foreigners with semi automatic weapons... But I don't condone that sort of behaviour. The graphics could do with some brushing up, but if spy games are your cup of tea this one really isn't that far off. Overall I like, so 4 skulls seems fair.
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Advance Wars 2 - Black Hole Rising
RATING: Use tactics and strategy, but mainly the fact that you have a better army then they do for the first dozen or so battles... but you can win some and then have to try. The graphics are funkyriffic and the scenes when people get blown away are funny. I'll give this 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Aero The Acrobat
I know I have to at least test play the games, if not an in depth play but this tested my patience! Jump on the star platforms, and then voila you've done it. The mixture of childish nature and more mature gameplay just annoys me like no other game and I've played Pokemon. 1 skull!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Army Men Advance
Funky graphics, although thew little orange balls you fire from your little gun do annoy me slightly. Being ambushed by the enemies is also frustrating, but the fun factor is most certainly there and for that the score is highered. Controlling the little green army man as you beat the tans just takes me back to my childhood, playing in the dirt so 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Atlantis - The Lost Empire
RATING: Simply put, it's shoddy and that's a bad thing. So your grandfather almost found Atlantis and you've got to continue the search and find it yourself. Unless the game seriously bucks itself out of a ditch after I stopped playing then it doesn't even deserve an attempt of humour. 2 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Backyard Football
Not as good as the hockey version, which I should get soon, and actually different from other games such as Madden and All American Championship Football. There's a side on view, the plays have been renamed but you get to choose the kids on your team so you stand a chance! Good if you want a childish football game but otherwise I can only give it 3 skulls.
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Banjo Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
RATING: Yee Haw, ride em like a pony on your farm...wait wrong game. But this ones good too. You play Banjo, and his friend Kazooie has been kidnapped so you save him from Mecha-Grunty and then the pair of you battle your way through levels solving puzzles until you have to defeat Gruntilda in a series of fights at the end. Great sounds, nice graphics and wicked-awesome *slap me* gameplay, 5 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Breath of Fire
I hate RPGs, so this might not seem like a fair review... But after the exceedingly long intro sequence in which you and you 'Light Dragons' get frozen in stone, you something or other. However it is one of the better RPGs I've played but still I hate it so. That means this is a toss up between 3 and 4 skulls, and tails means it's 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Breath of Fire 2
More of the same, and still longwinded. I'm tempted to write a long paragraph but not much has changed between this and the first one... so 4 skulls and I'll save some time.
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Cartoon Network Speedway
RATING: Ok then, Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Sheep and Ed, Edd and Eddy are racing around a track in Mario-Kartesque style... believe me it's better then it sounds. It's even got funny power-ups instead of the cutesy ones you usually get. Overall there's not much wrong with it so if you like racing games, go for it... 4 skulls.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Chu Chu Rocket
RATING: Honestly, I didn't know what it was and frankly I didn't want to review it... but I was wrong and I can admit that. It doesn't make much of a man and neither does playing a game where you guide mice into spaceships. So what if the graphics aren't top-notch. So what if those orange things keep eating my arrows, I like it damnit. 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Colin McRae Rally 2
A very basic racing game, since it's based on rallying. Nice graphics though and the instructions on screen and your navigator speaking if you have the sound on. Believe me it's not as annoying as it sounds. That means after the Mario Kart series and Diddy Kong Racing, this is my favourite although I haven't played CMR 3 yet. 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Crash Nitro Kart
RATING: The orange bandicoot races his friends around annoying tracks. It doesn't have the charm of, oh lets say Diddy Kong racing but nothing does...except Super Mario Kart, and Super Circuit...anyway, you get the point. Reasonable Graphics, slightly annoying sound but 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Crazy Taxi - Catch A Ride
RATING: You're in a taxi, what's the first thing that comes to your mind... get people to their destinations? Thats not what you were thinking of, eww, no! Funky gameplay, shame you can't hit the people but it's not GTA now is it. And with that brushed to one side, I still like this... 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Side scrolling martial arts fight-em-up, and it rocks like a Finnish heavy metal band (Tarot!!!)! You play as the princess and have to battle little men, dogs and big men with spears until you finish the game in a blaze of triumph. This comes highly recommended from the Magic Bus camp, 5 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3
More like THPS than Mat Hoffman in terms of graphics but as soon as you get the hang of it and have a compute capable of handling the game so that it flows, then so good. Probably not for you if you don't like extreme sports and the such but a BMX is hardly extreme for beginners. 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
RATING: The weirdest crossover game I've ever played. It really, kinda, in a way jumped on the skateboarding bandwagon. They even made up tricks for you to do! But you play as one of Disney's popular characters like Buzz or Woody and you skate. Fluid gameplay that fully deserves 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Driver 2 Advance
RATING: Can't remember the storyline, mainly because I never even tried to stick to it. But driving around is fun, and the graphics are greatly improved from the first Driver game. It's fun for a while and if you like the series you'll like this, and I think that 3 or 4, probably 3 skulls is about right.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

FIFA Football 2003
I haven't been a fan of FIFA since '98, I discovered the ISS series and have never looked back. But the GBA isn't the football/soccer system, thats what the Playstations are for. So the graphics look shabby, but are reasonable for the GBA ans sound doesn't matter... 2 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

FIFA Football 2004
One step beyond, and you know they only re-release these games with one upgrade and the new teams. So read the above description and pow, its slightly better. That means this one gets 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Finding Nemo
RATING: There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling about this game... so disappointed. For some reason I loved the film, mainly because I'm very immature for my age and enjoyed the comical element of Dory... but that's a different story. It lacks the charm that I had expected, which should teach me to expect stuff... 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Fire Pro Wrestling 2
Hmm, wrestling the sport of...something or someone. Anyway my attempt at humour out of the way and you have yourself a grappling fest worthy of Ricky Steamboat vs Roc Flair. I highly recommend this game for mess about fun and wrestling highlights. If I had a Game of the Week this would win once, so 5 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

F-Zero - Maximum Velocity
Ever wanted to drive around at speeds of over 600mph? No me neither, but I can when I want to now that Maximum Velocity is on the scene. Great all round game, beats the N64 version hands down with one foot and no socks.... 5 skulls and no arguing please.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Harvest Moon - Friends of Mineral Town
And another storyline pops up, this time you don't have to cope with the death of your family member... now its the old man who you became friends with all those years ago. Now it might just be me, but I prefer the GB/GBA versions of this over the SNES... except 2 and 3 on the GBC, they sucked. Anyhow, mainly for the music, 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Hey Arnold! The Movie
Gee whiz "Football Head" and his crappy movie got made into a game, and boy howdy it blows like... I can't say that about any of the characters, not even their future selves. I'll hand over 2 skulls and be moving on my way.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

International Superstar Soccer Advance
FIFA or ISS? I choose ISS and it hasn't let me down yet. This isn't an exception to my lifetime friend so nice graphics, fluent gameplay and not-so-bad sound means this has a 4 skull rating...just beating the FIFA games, again!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Jackie Chan Adventures
Currently one of my favourite cartoons, and the game is so so. No Jackie Chan voices though, so I wept like I did in Titanic, when they showed what's-his-name so many times... anyway, funky monkey and side-scrolling fun, 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Jet Grind Radio
The Dreamcast has/had this one better then the GBA does. But you skate around on your blades and grafitti the world around you to beat the rival gang, I think. Sluggish graphics but everything else is nice and well rounded so 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Justice League Chronicles
RATING: Your favourite DC comic book characters, yes someone other then Marvel, have sensed a disturbance somewhere over Antartica... talk about saving money on level designers... and you have to find out what it is and stop it. It has the Green Lantern in some funny style, and the Flash, which ups it a skull to 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Little League Baseball 2002
Those funny named kids knocking the ball out of the park, so much fun to be had. Once you get over the big heads, and get tired of playing T-Ball and thrashing the opponents 13-0 or so, you move up to real baseball and still it doesn't disappoint my easily pleased pallet. 3 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

M&M's Blast!
RATING: You take a pinch of Mario Party... remove the characters and replace them with four colours of M&Ms. Then replace Bowser with nothing, cutesy mini-games with highly annoying ones and you've got this game. Saying that it's not all bad. Something addictive in there, probably the artificial colourings but it's got the staying power I like in games. 3 skulls.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Mario Kart Super Circuit
Oh goodness, (no religion here) I hope that's yoghurt... attempt at humour again, I'm sorry. This one is back to the SNES standard after the N64 and Gamecube milked it for all it had, so rock solid everything and the fun is flowing like Niagara Falls, 5 skulls and a yippee!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Masters Of The Universe - He-Man Power Of Grayskull
Prince Adam fooling the palace again, and this isometric take on things isnt as disappointing as I had expected. Awkward controls and very, very annoying skeletons as bad guys...2 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Megaman Zero
The improved version of the SNES classic, or GB classic whatever you've played it on. Zero becomes unfrozen and has to save some chick from a monster. Nice gameplay, very good gameplay and an extremely splendid game. One of the highest recommendations I will ever give is for this game, 5 skulls!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Men in Black - The Series
RATING: Give me an S... Give me an H... and you know where it's going from there... shambles! If this game was a person I would slap them, and me being the male of the species and not a slapper, I'd just punch it. Bad graphics, annoying controls and cheesy everything else. 2 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Metroid Fusion
Samus has recovered from his infection by parasite X, and after the lengthy opening sequence to explain everything you can play a classic game! Everything about rocks your world more then Woodstock, but I wouldn't know I wasn't there... 5 skulls and a high recommendation!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Monsters Inc
RATING: Lacks the charm of the film, but theres is something there. I can't quite my finger on it, but I can't just put the game down either. The graphics are what you'd expect from a game about a Disney/Pixar film and it just goes up and up like a balloon or something, 3 skulls only though.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Pokemon Pinball - Ruby & Sapphire
Ever since I was a young boy, I played a silver ball. From Soho down to Brighton I must have played them all... but i ain't seen nothing like it in any amusement hall and there's a damn good reason, its frustrating. Not even supple wrists will save you from the torment it presents, and the stress will raise you blood pressure if you don't put it down... but saying that it's fun for a while, 2 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Pokemon Ruby
I spent years getting away from Pokemon, and when you're in school and all the little kids are playing and talking and making you want to hit them, they bring out another and what a suprise its annoyingly addictive. you know the run of the mill stuff about Pokemon games so I won't bore you anymore then I already have... 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Premier Manager 2003-04
The management sim on GBA, yes! I can get mid table with Southampton but you'll have to try it to beat me and I don't want any e-mails from people saying I'm 'bad' at this game. There are no graphics so I can't comment on those, but the music is of shopping centre standard... so 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time
RATING: It's just like "Atlantis" but has a better story, better graphics and better gameplay. So instead of the 2 skulls I gave the fore mentioned game this one deserves higher, despite the annoying bad guys coming back to life and shooting you with arrows... 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Road Rash Jailbreak
RATING: Ooh, there's nothing like racing motorbikes to make you feel so deliciously white trash... If you like that feeling, but anyway the graphics are different, and somewhat better then the Megadrive versions and there are new tracks to keep you busy, overall worth about 5 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Silent Scope
The lust of blood, especially if its scum blood and not the blood of innocents. I prefer the arcade version on Skegness Pier, but seeing as most of the people who come to this site are American they won't have a clue about that... Anyhow, nice graphics and you fire at will... 4 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Spider Man - Mysterio's Revenge
Do whatever you can to get a goldfish bowl for Mary-Jane, or did I miss something in the story? Three levels to choose from and each expands to give some more sub levels. Swing, climb up walls and punch your way through the game, maybe earning yourself 4 skulls along the way!
REVIEW BY: Magical Busker

Star Wars: Flight of Falcon
Ho ho, hee hee and flying through space for me. Fun for all the family, except those with heart problems the force may hurt you... my bad humour strikes back... but it's decent if not sloppy, so these are the 3 skulls that you're looking for!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Starsky and Hutch
RATING: I need that emoticon again, because I'm sad...after playing this game anyway. Brick like graphics and terrible physics in the handling of the cars. I have nothing more to say about it, so this is a short review and I apologise for letting you have access to this game... 1 skull.
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

Stuntman
Yawn, and I repeat yawn. Has nothing on the PS2 version, and I didn't like that one so much. But its saving grace is I get to pretend I'm in the movies, and with this face I never will really be in a movie. One good point, versus numerous bad ones but I can't be nasty, so 2 skulls!
REVIEW BY: MAGICAL BUSKER

WWF Road to Wrestlemania
Hmm, like FPW, but nto quite hitting the moves in the same way. This will never take my heart as the leading wrestling game, for that belongs to WCW/NWO Revenge... but back to the point, I say 3 skulls for this monster game!
