Kylie fever hots up
By CAMERON ADAMS,7/6/02
KYLIE Minogue will tour Australia in August. She will play at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Friday 2nd of August with tickets on sale on Monday June 17 through Ticketek.

But fans will have to move fast to see her.
Not only is Minogue's Fever tour limited to Melbourne and Sydney, but time constraints mean there will only be a handful of shows in each city.

Insiders suggest the rush from local fans, as well as those from interstate, will see Minogue's first Sydney show sell out in minutes.

"I'm sure there are fans with their phones at the ready already," Minogue told the Herald Sun yesterday.

"I'm already apologising for people who won't get to see it, but it's the best we can do."

Minogue's last show, On a Night Like This, toured Australia for a month last year, with seven shows at Rod Laver Arena.

Minogue said the Fever tour, to follow a sell-out European leg this month, was originally going to miss Australia altogether.

Kylie Minogue touring Australia this August
Homecoming:Kylie Minogue will perform at the Sydney Entertainment Centre from Friday 2nd August.
"The last tour was so recent and I'm sure half the country came to see it," she said.

"But this tour has turned out to be such a different show and one that I'm immensely proud of and I really want Australians to see it, and not just on a DVD.

"The unfortunate part is I can't get around the country. I just can't do what I did last time.

"Hopefully people appreciate that. I'm just glad to be coming home and I'm interested to see what the audience reaction will be in Australia.

"I just hope everyone likes the show. I'm quietly confident. Most people say they haven't seen a show like it."

Fans will be able to buy a limited number of "gold" seats close to the stage for about $140, while normal seats will sell for about $85.

Minogue said she ruled out playing outdoor shows in Australia, which would have accommodated more fans.

"I don't think you can do a show devised and designed around 10,000 people and just stick it in front of 100,000 people," she said.

"I might have to do that at some point, but I'd like to have the show specifically designed for that."
