| Many eons ago, the heavens met the sea in an endless horizon. All of the sky was ruled by Vivien, the Mother Goddess, and all of the seas were ruled by Phianlo, the Father. But all was not well. Vivien was lonely, and one day her tears spilled into the ocean and Phianlo noticed her. They fell in love instantly, and had four children: Arin, Mord, Etwi, and Maris.
Vivien had many other children, but she loved none as her first four. She bestowed upon them many gifts, including mastery over the elements and each a choice over which area they would reign over. Arin chose Drama and Air, Mord chose Harvest and Earth, Etwi chose Wisdom and Water, and Maris chose Warfare and Fire. All was well. That is, until the Four quarreled.
For reasons long lost to God- and Human-kind alike, the siblings began a war that would last up to present times. It shook the heavens and rolled the seas, and grievened Vivien to no end. She hated to see her children fighting, and so Galdore was made.
Galdore was an attempt to staunch the tide of battle among the four. It was a perfect land, with all landscapes imaginable. Vivien divided the land into five parts, one for each of the Gods and Goddesses, and a healthy chunk in the middle for herself to watch over her children. Each land yielded to the Immortals' personal likes and needs. Still, they did not waver in their fighting, now using Galdore as a battleground.
Rather than be angered by this, Vivien was only saddened. As a last attempt at peace, she created mortals as servants for the Four Siblings. They were a diverse group, each molded in the Gods and Goddesses own image. And still, the Immortals quarreled, now using the humans as soldiers in the war that would never end.
Vivien had had enough. In a rage, she threw down the Book of the Four and deemed it so that none of her children could ever return to Galdore, save in mortal form. But it was too late to save the humans, who to this day continue the fighting of their God. Which side will you choose? |
