{ In Character - Out of Character - Application }

We all know they're necassary, right? Plus, Galdore has some unique rules that might effect acceptance. No, there is no required password. The admins will know if you didn't read this page. Dudley Dowrong will be used as an example of rulebreaking.

In Character
  • First and foremost, no God-moding or Power-playing. Godmoding is invincibilty. No character can dodge every blow.
    {Dudley ducked under the first thugs' sword while at the same time jumping over another's spear,
    all the while fending off the evil knight.}
    Powerplaying is controlling another player character.
    {Dudley barely fended off one of the thugs as the evil knight ran away to relieve himself in the
    bushes.}

  • I'm a big fan of Quality over Quantity. Please take a look at Sparticus's superb thread on the issue. A beefy paragraph is really all that's requested, though one board per clan will be used as strictly advanced (fifteen lines or more).

  • Explicit content is allowed, within reason. Sex is a natural part of life, but I'd prefer to say you've done the deed than descrive the actual occurence. In terms of swearing, any is allowed as long as it is era-appropriate. (Rather than a slut, a wench. Rather than son of a bitch, a whoreson. Rather than fuck, shite. Prizes will be given to anyone who thinks of the best original curse or insult.)

  • When roleplaying on this site, nothing but "book style" will be tolerated. I.E., nothing around normal text and "s around dialogue. Also, roleplay in past tense.
    {:: Walks in and sees Jenna. ::
    Hi I'm Dudley Dowrong.
    ::Decides to sit down. Sits ::}

  • Killing is perfectly acceptable on this site, under some restrictions. If someone is killed, the thread will be viewed and judged by one of the mods or admins to see if you deserved to die. (Message them if you do die. They're not omnicient enough to know exactly what, where, and when something is typed.) If you want your character to die, then it will be accepted, no question.

  • You can have as many characters as you want, as long as they all are active and are under separate accounts.

Out of Character
  • There will be no discriminatory or disrespectful comments on any board (unless it's something like: "What a stupid Avarinian"). Depending on how severe the breach of this rule is, characters are suseptable to being deleted without warning.

  • Bring no grudges from IC to OOC. Someone's character does not necassarily reflect its' owner exactly.

  • Chatspeak and SPAMming are two of the most annoying forces on the planet Earth. Neither will be tolerated, either in OOC or IC.

Application
Firstly, check out Malamyn's thread on the issue of character building. You might just learn something.
  • You are not guaranteed your first clan choice. Reasons for this could be that your character's personality does not fit the chosen clan (unless that is explained) or the clan is too full for more applicants. The better your application, the more likely you are to get it.

  • After much deliberation, I've decided to make this site purely human. Reasons for this include the clogging up of certain races (such as elves) and the negligence of others (such as dwarves). All human makes the hate more believable, also, as we are such a fickle race.

  • You don't have to choose a clan. If you are unsure which your character belongs in, I shall choose it for you.

  • If you include two definite weaknesses in your application (NOT physical) you shall be put on the Wall of Application Fame. You can also get your name up there if your character is a superb one.
