RUNNING TRAINS AT BOB FLETCHER'S
APRIL 10, 2004
Bob Fletcher invited a group of us to run trains at his Raspberry Thyme RR early in the season before he starts a major track realignment.  In this area, north  of Allentown, there was frost just two weeks before, and most of the plants had not awakened yet.  The weather was mild but windy enough to cause problems with the trains.  As you can see, we all had a great time.
Some of the happy crew: Bob Fletcher, Tom Weaver, and Kevin Yutz.  Several others were there as well.  One advantage of taking the picture is that you don't have to be in it!
Side by Side - Kevin's Dash 9 meets Pete's SD-45.  Both were good at pulling long trains.
The SD-45 pulling a coal train solo.  This engine is battery powered, with batteries contained in both the engine and the boxcar.
Both of Kevin's Dash 9's pulling a long train around the loop and onto the S curve. There's a little bit of trick photography here - the tank cars in the distance were on a different train!  The Dash 9 train was "only" 43 cars long!
Eggliner parade - Tom's 6 Eggliners teamed up with Pete's 2.  Four more and we'd have a dozen!
Wind caused the wreck - really!  The wind pushed a hopper car from a siding onto the main, where the SD-45 plowed into it.  The train on the adjacent track got derailed as well.
Have Budd, Will Travel - the Budd Car on the Raspberry Thyme RR.  It's been a lot of places, including the East Coast Show last weekend.  Other adventures can be seen at www.geocities.com/eggink806/BuddontheRoad.html
Packing up - The Bee Line SD45 drives into its new carrier while Bob's doggie looks on.  I built the carrier just the day before so it's not quite finished.  I guess we could call it the Bee Keeper!
