| March 2009 2008, A busy year! This past year was truly an event-filled one! We praise the Lord for the opportunities that He gave us to serve Him. The prayers and gifts of Gods people are a vital part of all that we are able to do for Him. 2008 activities Although not everything we had planned for this past year came to be, God still used us and we are pleased to report to you some of what He did. Clarissa was able to go to Honduras in May, to help with a dental clinic. The group that she was part of also held a pastors conference. Although obviously not qualified to teach in that regard, and not a dentist, she did help with a lot of behind the scenes work. She was also able to give her testimony in a couple of the local churches. It was a great example of how God can use you to do anything if you are willing to be used! We had the opportunity to take a group of young people to eastern North Carolina for a week in July. The mission there in Red Springs is partnering with local churches to help needy families with repairs and/or construction at their homes. The two that we helped were a recently widowed older lady, and a younger lady who has been trying to finish her house for some time. She was recently taken by some unscrupulous contractors, so much work had to be removed and redone! We were pleased to be able to encourage them while serving the Lord. In September Sharon and Clarissa had the privilege to serve the Lord again in Romania, using VBS-type programs. The children are so excited to have someone spend time and share stories from the Bible with them. This work is in partnership with local churches in the villages there. Many in those churches cannot afford to get through the winter, so another part of the ministry was distributing food. This was a huge encouragement and help to those believers. An exciting 2009 Christiana and Pete just returned from a short trip to France. We had intended to take a larger group with us, but timing, finances, and plans in France dictated that we scale back a bit. We were, however, able to get quite a few things done for the Pepes while there, and are thankful for your help to be an encouragement to them. If you would like to hear more about their ministry, drop us a note and we will see about getting you on their mailing list. We are on the home stretch at MAI. We are grateful for the last few students that we have who are working toward serving the Lord on the mission field. Several of them will be doing apprenticeship programs this summer, so please pray for them as they finish their training and seek Gods will in their lives. I (Pete) have just finished the Master of Ministry program at Piedmont. I am very thankful that the Lord made the way for me to get this further education. I truly enjoyed learning from some great men of God! Pray with us that God will continue to use what I have learned as we serve Him. And praise the Lord, graduation is May 8! It is a bit sad to know that the ministry we are in will soon end. But we serve a great God Who has never let us down! We want to be in the middle of His plans for us, so please pray with us that His design will be clear, and that He will be glorified in and through our lives. Regardless of what we are doing, the important thing is what we are being. Please pray with us that we will be what He would have us to be! May God richly bless you as you continue to partner with us! Your servants and His, Pete, Sharon, Clarissa, Christiana and Andrew Wing |
