September14-29:
*The original plan of a few days play in the Murchison Glacier followed by a crossing of the main divide to the West Coast was aborted due to perpetual muck! Plan B was activated after all reading matter in Unwin Hut was exhausted, leaving no choice but fly in during a brief window of opportunity.
Landing at Kelman Hut overlooking the precipitous Murchison headwall and Tasman Saddle, mother nature put on a fine display of power. Quick sorties were made up adjacent peaks when visibility and wind allowed.
