2006 APBA SOUTH DIVISION CHAMPIONS 2004/2006 ALL-STAR GAME MANAGER 2006 APBA WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS
Chicago Craig's Cubs
WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!
Chicago Craig's Cubs defeat the Yankees in 6 games and win their first APBA World Championship.
8-30-06: The pre-season predictions turned out to be true.  The Chicago Craig's Cubs broke the "Curse of the Billy Goat" and won its first APBA World Series. The series, however, did not come easy. The New York Yankees won the first two games of the series at Wrigley Field, charging out of the gates to a commanding 2-0 series lead.  However, the Craig's Cubs would not go quietly.  Chicago took the next three games in Yankee Stadium, outscoring New York 21-11 in those games.  The road trip, and perhaps the entire World Series, was highlighted by a 5-run rally in the top of the 8th inning of Game 5. After an RBI single by Jhonny Peralta, 2B Mark Ellis, the most unlikely of heroes, stepped to the plate and hit the biggest home run in Craig's Cubs history.  His grand slam tied the game in the 8th inning and turned the tide of the World Series.  A Ronnie Belliard squeeze play in the 10th inning gave Chicago the lead and ace closer Mariano Rivera earned a two-inning victory after locking down the bottom of the 10th.  The Craig's Cubs returned to Chicago with a commanding 3-2 Series lead over the devestated and shocked New York Yankees.  The Game 5 carry-over became obvious early in Game 6.  The Craig's Cubs blew out New York by a score of 9-4, with Roger Clemens pitching his second complete game of the Worls Series. Shortly after the game Clemens was awarded as the World Series Most Valuable Player.  Clemens went 3-0 in the postseason with 26.00 IP and 28 Strikeouts.

2-4-06:  BLOCKBUSTER!!!  The Chicago Craig's Cubs and division rival Boston Massacre have once again made a blockbuster trade.  The Craig's Cubs got All-Star 1B Derrek Lee back in exchange for RP Eddie Guardado, SP Tom Glavine, and 1B Richie Sexson, and OF Miguel Cabrera.
2-4-06:  Unfortunate News.  After spending the entire 2005 season on IR, RP Chris Hammond has suffered a freak accident changing his oil Friday night at his home.  While releasing the drain plug, Hammond's jackstand gave out and crushed the pitcher's chest.  Luckily, Hammond was not killed.  Hammond will once again have to sit out the 2006 season on injured reserved. Get well soon Chris.
2-3-06: TRADE!  The Craig's Cubs have traded 2B Alfonso Soriano to the Los Angeles Lengers.  In the trade, the Lengers and Craig's Cubs exchanged 1st and 2nd Round Picks.
