April 31, 2006-The Chicago Craig's Cubs released SS David Eckstein and signed SP Greg Maddux. This marks the second time Eckstein has been released by the team. He was cut shortly after the APBA Draft in 2005. Eckstein has now been cut twice without ever having an at bat for the Craig's Cubs. Maddux was drafted by the Craig's Cubs in the 2004 Draft but released before the season started.
April 15, 2006- The Chicago Craig's Cubs released SP Livan Hernandez and signed SP Curt Schilling. Schilling will play for the Craig's Cubs minor league team hoping to earn a spot on the 2007 Craig's Cubs roster. This marks the second time this year in which Livan Hernandez was cut by a franchise. He was cut by the Atlanta Stallions during the 2006 draft and now by the Craig's Cubs.
