| Alejandro Toledo president of Peru led a large organization that produced close to a million false signatures of supposed adherents so that he could take part in the presidential elections of 2000 His sister Margarita Toledo was also directly involved and as a result of evidence produced by the investigation a judge has ordered her house arrest. The brother of Alejandro Toledo, Pedro Toledo is also guilty of illegally obtainning government contracts for a telecommunications company of which he is the owner. He tried to hide that he was the owner by naming someone else as the person in charge. |

| For many years A. Toledo refused to accept the fatherhood of Zarai Toledo, the daugher he had out of marriage product of an affair with a woman from the north of Peru. Toledo accused the child's mother of being a liar because she claimed he is the father. The mother took the case to the courts. Only when Alejandro Toledo saw that the mother might win the case and that it could cost him losing the presidency because he was the one who had indeed lied and intefered with the administration of justice by trying to influence the judga in charge by giving a job and money to the daughter of the judge and it all became public knowledge , he reached an out of court agreement and accepted to sign the fatherhood papers. |

| Toledo's wife avoids investigations for the misuse of World Bank loans for her Non Governmental organization |
| Eliane Karp, wife of president Alejandro Toledo had received up to 5 million dollars from a World Bank loan to the peruvian state. This moeny had to go towards the improvement in the quality of life of the amazon tribe indian and other indigenous and black communities. The inhabitants of the communities have been informing public opinion and the authorities that this money that was for their benefit never reached them. The peruvian congress was going to investigate Eliane Karp but members of the president's party (Peru Posible) together with their allies The FIM (the Independent Moralization Front) blcoked the investigation initiative. Up to this date february 2005 Eliane Karp has never explained to any authority how the money was used. |
