The Genetic Erosion Recovery Initiative is devoted to preservation of existing heirloom seed in danger of being lost, or done in by the genetic engineering companies specializing in plant resources..

Assisting the effort of preserving vegetable gentic diversity.   The largest seed companies are working to erode your resources while they increase their bottom line. Small seed companies are being bought out for their seed. Large companies use little of the regionally adapted varieties the small companies have bred by selection over years or decades. The rest is being either locked up or allowed to die off. Seed must be grown to survive. Some seed (like onions) needs to be grown every year. Other seed (like beans) can survive for decades. There has even been some (like lotus) that has grown after a thousand years or more - stored under the right conditions for the individual seed.

Have fun and learn how to save your seeds to preserve vegetable varieties for future generations.
Join the ranks of farmers and gardeners who have been doing this for the last 10,000 years! Learn How. Learn why.
